\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Weezer<\/strong><\/a> have officially kicked off their massive Weezer: The Gathering<\/strong><\/em> Tour!<\/p>\n The rock band launched the 32-city North American arena tour with a sold-out show at the Golden 1 Center on Tuesday night (September 8) in Sacramento, Calif.<\/p>\n Rivers Cuomo<\/strong><\/a>, Patrick Wilson<\/strong><\/a>, Brian Bell<\/strong><\/a> and Scott Shriner<\/strong><\/a> performed a 26-song set spanning more than three decades of music, including some tracks that hadn\u2019t been performed live in years.<\/p>\n The tour comes on the heels of the release of the band\u2019s 20th studio album, Weezer (The Gold Album)<\/em>, which arrived in August and includes the songs \u201cShine Again,\u201d \u201cWe Might As Well Be Strangers,\u201d \u201cC.E.O.\u201d and \u201cHoops.\u201d<\/p>\n During opening night, Weezer <\/strong>performed several songs from the new album alongside hits including \u201cBeverly Hills,\u201d \u201cBuddy Holly,\u201d \u201cIsland in the Sun,\u201d \u201cSay It Ain\u2019t So\u201d and \u201cUndone \u2013 The Sweater Song.\u201d<\/p>\n There were also some major surprises for longtime fans!<\/p>\n According to Setlist.fm, \u201cSlob\u201d was performed for the first time since 2005, while \u201cLonely Girl\u201d returned for the first time since 2014 and \u201cKeep Fishin’\u201d was played for the first time since 2018.<\/p>\n The band also gave \u201cNo Other One\u201d its first full-band performance since 2019 and performed \u201cAloo Gobi\u201d with the full band for the first time.<\/p>\n Silversun Pickups <\/strong>bassist Nikki Monninger<\/strong> joined Weezer<\/strong> during \u201cWe Might As Well Be Strangers,\u201d \u201cGo Away\u201d and \u201cI Just Threw Out the Love of My Dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n The Weezer: The Gathering Tour <\/em>features The Shins<\/strong> and Silversun Pickups<\/strong> as special guests and will continue with a show at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore. on Friday (September 11).
