As Landman<\/em> prepares to finally start production on season 3, the hit show is expanding with the introduction of a new character \u2014 played by someone from the Lioness<\/em> cast.<\/p>\n

Paramount+ confirmed on Wednesday, September 9, that Michael Kelly<\/strong> is joining season 3<\/a> of Landman<\/em>. The actor, 57, who plays Byron on Lioness, will portray William Crockett, \u201cthe leader of the largest oil management firm in the world.\u201d William is \u201ca titan of industry and everything about him exudes efficiency and money,\u201d according to the official character description.<\/p>\n

Kelly previously told Us<\/em> that he was a major fan of Landman, sharing in July, \u201cI f***ing love Landman. I love Billy Bob Thornton. I love Sam [Elliott]. It\u2019s just such a fun show. My wife [Karyn Kelly] and I eat that one up, man. That\u2019s a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTaylor Sheridan\u2018s fan-favorite series Landman has been renewed for a third season \u2014 but when will it premiere? Director Stephen Kay recently teased when Landman would return, telling The Hollywood Reporter, that the creators are \u201ccutting while we\u2019re shooting and so it\u2019ll hopefully be out soon.\u201d The plan is to condense two parts of the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cJust to collaborate with Taylor Sheridan, I consider him to be one of our best writers ever. Nobody has ever done what he\u2019s doing right now,\u201d he said. \u201cNope, it\u2019s never happened. I don\u2019t know that anyone\u2019s ever had six hit TV shows \u2014 let alone six hit TV shows at once. Kelly called his time on Lioness<\/em> a \u201cfreaking dream,\u201d adding, \u201cAnd then you get to go do all that fun cowboy s***. I go ride horses, and I did the cutting competition on horseback. I\u2019d never done that before. And they\u2019re like, \u2018All right, go train.\u2019 And so I went and they put me with a horse trainer and I rode a horse and learned how to do it. And it\u2019s just being there in Fort Worth too. I feel very, very grateful to be a part of his world in any way, shape or form.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on the \u201cBoomtown\u201d podcast, Landman<\/em> is Sheridan\u2019s newest hit series, joining the ranks of Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lawmen: Bass Reeves<\/em> and Lioness<\/em>. The hit Paramount+ series introduced Thornton as a corporate fixer working for an oil titan in a West Texas-set drama with life-and-death stakes.<\/p>\n

Landman<\/em> premiered in November 2024<\/a> after filming began in Texas early that year. Production on season 2 started in April 2025 and ended that August, with the episodes airing in November 2025.<\/p>\n

Season 3, however, has been dealing with changes<\/a>. While filming was originally scheduled for May, it got pushed to three months later. Production was delayed again, with the new start date seemingly planned for late September.<\/p>\n
