So, too, is <em>Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/em> after weeks and weeks of guest hosts.<\/p>\n<p>(Seth Meyers and John Oliver will return in a little over a week, though the former has been releasing \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5_MMyZv4cdY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Proof of Life<\/a>\u201d episodes on YouTube and <em>Last Week Tonight<\/em>\u2018s break only spans a few weeks.)<\/p>\n<p>On September 8, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/09\/08\/entertainment\/jimmy-kimmels-late-night-show-set-to-end-after-next-season-after-24-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Page Six<\/a><\/em> reported a claim that Season 25 will be Kimmel\u2019s last.<\/p>\n<p>This season has only just begun this week following Labor Day weekend. Or something like that.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s true that <em>Page Six<\/em> reported that Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s contract will run out in May 2027 and will not be renewed, to Spencer Pratt\u2019s delight.<\/p>\n<p>But ABC almost immediately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/tv\/2026\/09\/08\/jimmy-kimmel-live-ending-2027\/91666177007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">denied<\/a> the report, calling it \u201cinaccurate\u201d and calling any such claims \u201cpurely speculative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is pretty unusual for <em>Page Six<\/em> to report something like this, only for it to be immediately denounced. Kimmel being one of those people, he took it pretty personally.<\/p>\n<p>He even decorated a U-Haul, mocking Pratt\u2019s failed bid \u2014 and as a nod to his claim that he would leave LA if he lost. Even folks who aren\u2019t really in Kimmel\u2019s target audience (ourselves included) got a chuckle out of that, because bad men deserve ridicule.<\/p>\n<p>Look, there\u2019s a chance that the report was true, but that ABC hasn\u2019t actually made the decision or is weighing their options. <\/p>\n<p>If Kimmel does get the axe after half a century, it\u2019s unlikely to go over well with viewers \u2014 or stockholders. Disney took a serious financial hit when they temporarily suspended his show at Trump\u2019s urging just last year.
