Martha Stewart<\/strong><\/a> shared some insight into her history with John F. Kennedy Jr.<\/strong><\/a> during the season 16 premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI was with John-John \u2014 this is JFK Jr. \u2014 I was with him the Monday before the Friday when they died. Did you know that?\u201d Martha, 85, told makeup artist and RHONY<\/em> newbie Daisy Toye<\/strong><\/a> during the Tuesday, September 8, episode after revealing she was watching the FX series Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Martha continued, \u201cI was running Martha Stewart Living<\/em> magazine, and he called me and he said he\u2019s in trouble and could he please talk to me about what to do with George<\/em>, the magazine that he had started. And I said, \u2018Of course, anything you want.’\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Martha, the pair \u201chad a very nice dinner\u201d before John F. Kennedy<\/strong>\u2018s son mentioned that he was going to a wedding in Martha\u2019s Vineyard that weekend with his wife, Carolyn<\/strong>, and sister-in-law Lauren<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Daisy \u2014 who has worked with Martha for more than a decade \u2014 was shocked by the revelation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve thought about that so many times, that I told him to get a copilot,\u201d Martha said.<\/p>\n

JFK Jr. and Carolyn were killed in a plane crash off the coast of Martha\u2019s Vineyard in July 1999, along with her sister Lauren. The late couple\u2019s romance \u2014 and the aftermath of their tragic deaths \u2014 was explored in Ryan Murphy<\/strong>\u2018s Love Story<\/em>, which debuted in February.<\/p>\n

While viewers fell head over heels for the dramatized version of JFK Jr. and Carolyn\u2019s relationship, those who knew the couple had their fair share of criticism for the series.<\/p>\n

\u201cI signed on [for RHONY<\/em>], and it just so happened that Love Story premiered in the same weeks that I started filming,\u201d Carole, 63, told USA Today<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Tuesday. \u201cIt was a very emotional time for me. That show, really, it was like a body slam. I didn\u2019t watch it, but you couldn\u2019t get away from it. Martha Stewart watched it. The other women on the cast watched it and were curious about this and that. It was very hard.\u201d<\/p>\n
