Mandy Moore<\/strong><\/a> is addressing whether she plans to pick up the microphone again, like her BFF Hilary Duff<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moore, 42, shot to fame with pop song \u201cCandy\u201d in 1999, before segueing into acting, including her acclaimed role on This Is Us<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Variety<\/em><\/a>, the actress was asked if she planned to follow in Duff\u2019s footsteps after the Lizzie McGuire<\/em> star released her first album in over a decade<\/a> earlier this year and mounted a new world tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not the superstar that Hilary is,\u201d Moore told the outlet in the interview published on Saturday, September 5. \u201cI am so proud to watch her absolutely crush it on stage and performing around the country. She is such a role model to so many, myself included.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHilary Duff and Mandy Moore\u2019s friendship is what dreams are made of. While occasionally crossing paths as teenagers in Hollywood, Duff and Moore became especially close after they welcomed babies in 2021. \u201cHilary is a close friend, and she has a daughter who is six weeks younger than Gus,\u201d the This Is Us alum said [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Moore continued to gush, \u201cI\u2019m so inspired by what she\u2019s doing because she\u2019s also the best mom in the world and such a good friend. She kind of just does all of it so effortlessly.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for a comeback of her own, she said, \u201cI don\u2019t have that canon of hits in the same way, and I\u2019ve never had designs on being a pop star.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moore said she would be happy to return to the stage when her children are older. The actress shares sons Gus, 5, and Ozzie, 3, and daughter, Louise, 2, with husband Taylor Goldsmith<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy husband\u2019s an indie singer-songwriter,\u201d she said. \u201cI want to play theaters across the country and have him in my band and write records with him and friends of mine. I will find my way back to music.\u201d<\/p>\n
