While the \u201cBachelor Happy Hour\u201d podcast aims to cover the drama on screen, the transition of Joe Amabile<\/strong><\/a> and Serena Pitt<\/strong> <\/a>taking over hosting duties for Becca Kufrin<\/strong><\/a> and Michelle Young<\/strong><\/a> caused a stir off screen in Bachelor Nation.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we were offered \u2018Happy Hour\u2019 \u2014 we\u2019re friends with Becca and [her fianc\u00e9] Thomas [Jacobs],<\/strong><\/a> [they] are invited to our wedding \u2014 I had called Becca and just kinda let her know,\u201d Joe, 37, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> during a joint interview with Serena, 25. \u201cAnd I think she had heard and she honestly said nothing but nice things. We get along and I was just kind like, \u2018This is the situation.\u2019 And she was happy for me and happy for Serena. And I know Thomas expressed his feelings online.\u201d<\/p>\n News broke in June that Becca, 33, who has been working on \u201cHappy Hour\u201d since 2020, and Michelle, 30, who joined her in 2022, were out as the cohosts. Becca is currently expecting her first child with Thomas<\/a>, who declared via Instagram Stories that the couple would not be tuning into Charity Lawson<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s season 20 of The Bachelorette.<\/em><\/p>\n Thomas also replied to a fan who commented, \u201cWishing [Becca] and [Michelle] could have [said] goodbye, especially since Becca has been doing the podcast for so long!,\u201d writing: \u201cYeah, we would\u2019ve liked that too.\u201d<\/p>\n Weeks after the social media drama, Joe told Us<\/em>: \u201c[Thomas] actually called us as well. We\u2019re on great terms with them \u2014 no issue.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI had the pleasure of working with Becca on \u2018Happy Hour\u2019 for a season and she was an amazing host and did great things with \u2018Happy Hour,\u2019\u201d Serena added. \u201cProfessionally, I\u2019m excited to see what she does next. Personally, our relationship is great. I\u2019ve spoken with her over text as well. And Michelle also reached out and just said, \u2018Congratulations.\u2019 I know she texted me personally and commented on the \u2018Happy Hour\u2019 post. So it\u2019s all good in our relationship with them. We know we have big shoes to fill.\u201d<\/p>\n Joe and Serena met on season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise<\/em><\/a>, tying the knot at a New York City courthouse in 2022. The twosome will exchange vows again in Charleston in September. For now, however, they are focused on recapping Charity\u2019s journey.<\/p>\n \u201cWe really enjoy working together and podcasting together and have a lot of fun doing it. I don\u2019t know if we were the \u2018right\u2019 choice. I think we were a choice and we\u2019re lucky enough to get it,\u201d Joe, who confirmed he is no longer working on the \u201cClick Bait\u201d podcast<\/a>, told Us<\/em> when asked why the spouses were the right ones for the \u201cHappy Hour\u201d gig. \u201cBut I do think there\u2019s multiple couples and people in the franchise that could also step in and host a podcast. So we\u2019re lucky and grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cWe had [talked] about doing our own podcast, I wanna say probably a year ago. And we did have that conversation. \u2018Do we want to mix work with our relationship?\u2019 But, you know, when you break it down, a podcast takes a few hours a week to shoot. So like, if we can\u2019t figure that out, then I think we got some bigger issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
