One of Rob Reiner<\/span><\/a><\/strong>\u2019s final acting projects before his death is being celebrated among TV\u2019s biggest stars.<\/p>\n

During the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys<\/span><\/a> on Sunday, September 5, Reiner was honored with a posthumous nomination<\/a> for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series thanks to his turn as Albert Schnur in season 4 of FX\u2019s The Bear<\/i><\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n

The late star won, with presenter Wendi McLendon-Covey<\/strong> accepting the award on his behalf as the audience rose to give him a standing ovation. \u201cWe all wish he was here,\u201d the actress, 56, said.<\/p>\n

Other actors nominated in the category included Michael J. Fox<\/strong> for Shrinking<\/i>, Brett Goldstein<\/strong> for Shrinking<\/i>, Hamish Linklater<\/strong> for Widow\u2019s Bay<\/i>, Christopher McDonald<\/strong> for Hacks<\/i> and Connor Storrie<\/strong> for hosting Saturday Night Live.<\/i><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAfter writing around Rob Reiner\u2018s obvious absence, The Bear\u2018s series finale found a way to pay tribute to the late actor. The conclusion, which premiered on Thursday, June 25, acknowledged Reiner\u2019s character Albert Schnurr through Ebra (Edwin Lee Gibson). After calling Albert for advice throughout the season, Ebra got in contact with him to share [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

During season 4 of The Bear<\/i><\/span><\/a>, Reiner\u2019s character, Albert Schnur, was a restaurant franchiser who mentored Ebraheim (played by Edwin Lee Gibson<\/strong>) on how to expand The Original Beef sandwich walk-up window. The episodes were released in June 2025.<\/p>\n

Rob and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner<\/span><\/a><\/strong>,<\/b> were found dead in their Brentwood, California, home on December 14, 2025.<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s son Nick Reiner<\/strong> was later arrested<\/span><\/a> and charged in connection with their murders and remains behind bars at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Downtown Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Nick, 32, who has struggled with addiction and mental health issues over the years, has pleaded not guilty to all charges.<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s two other children, Jake<\/strong>, 35, and Romy<\/strong>, 28, continue to mourn the loss of their parents while also trying their best to move forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been eight months. It feels like eight years at the same time, and it also feels like eight minutes,\u201d Jake told KABC-TV\u2019s Mark Cota-Robles<\/strong> in an interview shared<\/span><\/a> August 27 on Good Morning America<\/i>. \u201cEvery moment that I wake up, I\u2019m reminded of my reality.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a Substack essay<\/span><\/a> published in April, Jake further shared the emotions he was feeling as he tried to cope with the death of both parents.<\/p>\n
