The card recently received a refresh<\/a><\/span>, adding new benefits while increasing its annual fee to $695.<\/p>\n

Here’s my take on why this card remains so rewarding.<\/p>\n

How common is a 125,000\u2011mile welcome bonus on the Citi \/ AA Executive?<\/h2>\n

Over the last seven years<\/a><\/span>, the Citi \/ AAdvantage Executive<\/a><\/span> reached the 100,000-mile mark only four times, making this new 125,000-mile offer truly exceptional.<\/p>\n

The previous high of 100,000 bonus miles was most recently offered in March of this year, and required spending $10,000 within the first three months from account opening (no longer available).<\/p>\n

The current offer requires more total spending \u2014 $15,000 instead of $10,000 \u2014 but gives you five months instead of three to meet the requirement. That works out to an average of $3,000 in monthly spending, compared with roughly $3,333 per month under the previous highest offer.<\/p>\n

So, while you’ll need to spend an additional $5,000 overall, you have more time to do it and will earn an additional 25,000 AAdvantage miles.<\/p>\n

Who is eligible for the 125,000\u2011mile welcome bonus on the Citi \/ AA Executive?<\/h2>\n

To be approved for the Citi \/ AAdvantage Executive<\/a><\/span>, a credit score<\/a><\/span> of 670 or higher is recommended.<\/p>\n

Citi doesn’t limit the total number of credit cards you can hold, but it does limit the overall credit line it will provide you.<\/p>\n

Citi’s 48-month rule means you can’t earn a welcome bonus on the Citi \/ AA Executive if you’ve received one on this card within the past four years. Note that the clock starts ticking from the time you receive the welcome bonus, not when you are approved for or activate the card.<\/p>\n

How much are 125,000 AAdvantage miles worth?<\/h2>\n

According to TPG’s September 2026 valuations<\/a><\/span>, AAdvantage miles are worth 1.45 cents each. That means the 125,000-mile welcome bonus on the Citi \/ AA Executive<\/a><\/span> is worth an impressive $1,813.<\/p>\n

I’m drawn to AAdvantage miles for their flexibility and value. I like to use them for domestic American Airlines flights across the U.S., transatlantic trips to Europe, getaways to Mexico, and premium cabin redemptions on partner carriers like Finnair, Japan Airlines and Qantas.<\/p>\n
