Patrick Clancy<\/strong> and his legal team are reacting to a judge\u2019s decision to declare a mistrial<\/span><\/a> in his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy<\/strong>\u2019s murder case.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatrick Clancy is grateful to the Court and to the jurors for their hard work, their commitment and their perseverance,\u201d Patrick\u2019s attorney David Meier<\/strong> said in a statement to CBS News<\/span><\/a> on Friday, September 4. \u201cThe loss of Patrick\u2019s children is something from which he will never recover and from which there will never be closure.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement continued, \u201cThe prospect of reliving this tragedy through another trial is extraordinarily painful \u2014 for Patrick, for his family and for all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, a judge declared a mistrial following a nearly six-week trial for the murder of the former couple\u2019s three children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Jurors deliberated for nearly seven days, but ultimately could not reach a unanimous decision and were deadlocked 11-1.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tLindsay Clancy\u2019s ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, got emotional while describing their three children during his ex-wife\u2019s murder trial after she killed them in January 2023. Lindsay, 35, was arrested on January 26, 2023, and charged with the murders of their children Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Three years later, Patrick, 38, took the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lindsay previously admitted to fatally strangling her three kids in January 2023 before an apparent suicide attempt, which left her paralyzed from the waist down. Her defense team has argued that she had been suffering from postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder before and at the time of the killings, claiming she was not able to differentiate right from wrong and therefore should not be held criminally responsible for her children\u2019s deaths.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Lindsay\u2019s attorney Kevin Reddington<\/strong> was asked about his client\u2019s ex-husband.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think, Patrick, you heard the 911 call; I think you can judge his credibility by that 911 call,\u201d Reddington told reporters via NBC News<\/span><\/a>. \u201cI don\u2019t know what is in Patrick\u2019s mind when he testified, and the jury was able to evaluate him.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about rumors and speculation on social media that have falsely accused Patrick of murder, Reddington replied, \u201cRegarding the people on the internet, I certainly don\u2019t dismiss them. It\u2019s amazing how they\u2019re able to figure out facts, and they do investigations; it\u2019s just truly amazing. This whole concept of the internet, it really is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patrick, who has not been accused or charged with a crime involving his children, was one of the first individuals to testify during the trial. He described the day he found his wife after she jumped out of a second-story window of their home.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe killed the kids!\u201d he yelled in a 911 call played for the jury.<\/p>\n

As prosecutors decide whether to move forward with another trial, Lindsay\u2019s defense team is sharing<\/span><\/a> their perspective on the high-profile murder case.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, obviously this is not a time for gloating or bragging, expressing victory. It\u2019s a very sad case,\u201d Reddington told reporters on Friday amid a deadlocked 11-1 jury. \u201c[Plymouth County District Attorney Tim<\/strong>] Cruz<\/strong> knows that he was crushed, that he doesn\u2019t have a case, he doesn\u2019t have to stand here and say that he\u2019s advocating on behalf of the victims and then look down to see what their names are.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reddington continued, \u201cI\u2019m representing a woman who is a fantastic, wonderful individual. This woman is so brave; so awesome. Every day she came into this courthouse, stood tall \u2014 no pun intended, the poor thing is in a wheelchair as we all know for the rest of her life \u2014 sat there through seven weeks of a trial where nobody had anything bad to say about her except for the two prosecutors and apparently Tim Cruz.\u201d<\/p>\n
