Kit Connor<\/strong><\/a> and Diana Silvers<\/strong><\/a> are teaming up for a new movie based on true events. <\/p>\n

The 22-year-old Heartstopper<\/em> star and the 28-year-old The Abandons<\/em> star have been cast to lead the upcoming true-crime film, PREPPY<\/em> (stylized with a reverse E), according to Deadline<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n

The upcoming film hails from director Janicza Bravo<\/strong>, based on an original script by David Levine<\/strong> and Rose Lichter-Marck<\/strong>. Jason Bateman<\/strong><\/a> is among the producers.<\/p>\n

It will explore “the summer of 1986 leading to the murder of recent high school graduate Jennifer Levin at the hands of Robert Chambers, a former Manhattan private-school student, in New York\u2019s Central Park. The shocking crime \u2014 in which Chambers was dubbed the ‘Preppy Killer’ \u2014 captivated a generation and put privilege, class and sex on trial.” <\/p>\n

The casting news comes just weeks after it was announced<\/a> that Kit<\/strong> would be playing Cyclops in an upcoming X-Men movie for Marvel!<\/p>\n

He is, of course, best known for starring in Netflix’s YA series Heartstopper<\/em> and its finale movie, Heartstopper Forever<\/em>. Kit<\/strong> has also recently starred in the movie Warfare<\/em> and has several more in the works, including the Elden Ring<\/em> adaptation and the animated Charlie vs the Chocolate Factory<\/em> for Netflix.<\/p>\n

Diana<\/strong> had her breakout roles in Booksmart <\/em>and Ma<\/em>, both released in 2019. She then went on to star in the Space Force<\/em> series and the movies The Killer<\/em>, Lonely Planet<\/em>, and Billy Knight<\/em>. More recently, she starred in the Netflix series The Abandons<\/em>.<\/p>\n
