Michael Weatherly<\/strong><\/a> is back as Anthony \u201cTony\u201d DiNozzo in Us\u2019<\/em> exclusive first look at the NCIS<\/em><\/a> season 24 trailer \u2014 and it\u2019s safe to say that his humor and charm are still intact.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a new era here at NCIS<\/a>, it\u2019s time we celebrate more. Cake?\u201d Dr. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen<\/strong>) hilariously asks his coworkers in the official trailer, carrying a tray full of vanilla treats.<\/p>\n

NCIS Supervisory Special Agent Alden Parker (Gary Cole<\/strong>), however, isn\u2019t impressed with Palmer\u2019s new role as the confection king.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m the morning sweets guy, you trying to muscle in on my territory?\u201d Parker says, showing no signs of joking.<\/p>\n

Parker then tells his squad, \u201cBesides, we\u2019ve got a dead body at a navy hanger. You might not want a full stomach?\u201d<\/p>\n

As the group puts down their cake slices in unison, fans are reminded that season 23 ended with a security breach, which is how Tony will come into play in the upcoming episodes. (Nick Torres confronted Timothy McGee\u2019s son, Mateo, during the May 2025 finale<\/a> about why he was using an NCIS computer, which is seemingly where the breach originated.)<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat does Mr. DiNozzo think?\u201d a higher-up agent asks interim NCIS Deputy Director Gabriel LaRoche<\/a> (Seamus Dever<\/strong>) in the clip.<\/p>\n

As the question lingers in the air, music heightens and Tony is spotted<\/a> walking through a crowd.<\/p>\n

The trailer then shows Tony in the NCIS elevator alongside special agents McGee (Sean Murray<\/strong>) and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama<\/strong><\/a>). He\u2019s wearing a \u201cvisitor\u201d badge and a hooded sweatshirt, which is rare for the former agent, who was known for his smart suits.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, the orange walls,\u201d Tony jokes as the doors open for him to see his old office again. \u201cVery Special Non-Agent Anthony DiNozzo is back.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tNCIS has seen its fair share of cast exits throughout its 20-plus years on TV \u2014 but some stars, including Michael Weatherly, have also made epic comebacks. When season 23 premiered in fall 2025, Sean Murray, who plays Timothy McGee, was the only original cast member still featured on the CBS hit series. He won\u2019t [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Elsewhere in the trailer, Tony confides in McGee, who he affectionately calls \u201cproby\u201d after their years of working together, telling him, \u201cSomething bad is coming down the pike. Very bad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tony, now in a suit, adds, \u201cSome very smart people are very worried about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

As action scenes flash across the screen, Torres (who is not dead, thankfully) is seen fighting an unknown assailant in a bar \u2014 and winning. (During the season 23 finale, a gunshot rang out when Torres was alone in an alley with Mateo, played by Patrick Keleher<\/strong>, as the two argued over Mateo\u2019s real reason for getting close to his father.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s either a diversion or a trap,\u201d Torres teases, while Special Agent Jessica Knight (Katrina Law<\/strong>) ominously warns, \u201cIt\u2019s all a misdirect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tony, however, appears calm and collected throughout the trailer, hinting that McGee\u2019s wisdom will lead them all to victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf NCIS Special Agent Tim McGee is paying attention, it is all going to work out,\u201d Tony says, raising eyebrows among the team, who know he\u2019s a mischievous but loyal teammate.<\/p>\n

Torres wonders, \u201cIs this the same Tony that superglued your fingers to your keyboard?\u201d referring to Tony lovingly taunting and tormenting McGee in the past.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat the hell just came out of your mouth?\u201d McGee asks, looking equally as concerned over Tony\u2019s perceived niceness<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tony, however, insists he\u2019s being sincere, responding, \u201cIt\u2019s a new me, Tim. Accept it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The trailer concludes with Tony sitting beside his temporary boss Parker and winking at him in a cheeky act reminiscent of Tony\u2019s playful dynamic with now-retired Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon<\/strong>).<\/p>\n
