It may have been over a decade since The Girls Next Door<\/em> first aired on E!, but it still hasn\u2019t been forgotten quite yet.<\/p>\n The Girls Next Door<\/em> \u2014 which ran for six seasons from 2005 to 2010 \u2014 gave viewers an inside look at the eventful lives of the late Hugh Hefner\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> three main girlfriends: Holly Madison<\/a>, Bridget Marquardt<\/a><\/strong> and Kendra Wilkinson<\/strong><\/a>. In the show\u2019s final season, however, the focus was shifted towards Heftner\u2019s new girlfriends: Crystal Hefner<\/strong> <\/a>and twins Kristina Shannon<\/strong> <\/a>and Karissa Shannon<\/strong><\/a>. (Hugh and Crystal eventually tied the knot in 2012 and stayed together until Hefner\u2019s death<\/a> in 2017.)<\/p>\n While their lives may have seemed glamorous on the show, some of the girls have come out with claims that their lives in the Playboy Mansion were not as great as they may have seemed.<\/p>\n \u201cLife in the mansion wasn\u2019t the fairy tale I had once hoped it would be,\u201d Crystal wrote in her January 2024 memoir, Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself.<\/em>\u00a0\u201cFrom the outside, sure, it had all the trappings of a fairy tale. But it wasn\u2019t, and everyone who lived there knew it.\u201d<\/p>\n
