A new Pok\u00e9mon<\/strong><\/a><\/em> movie was just announced! <\/p>\n

The hit trading card and video game franchise revealed Pok<\/em><\/strong>\u00e9<\/strong><\/em>mon: Wild Card<\/em><\/strong> on Sunday (August 30), on the final day of their first-ever fan convention, 2026 World Championships<\/em>, in San Francisco, Calif. <\/p>\n

In addition to the movie’s announcement, the first teaser trailer was unveiled. <\/p>\n

What is Pok\u00e9mon: Wild Card<\/em> about?<\/h3>\n

The upcoming first Pok\u00e9mon movie since 2020 is set to feature a Pok\u00e9mon TCG player and Mimikyu.<\/p>\n

Katsuhiko Kitada<\/strong> serves as director, with character design by Akemi Hayashi<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon: Wild Card<\/em> is set for a worldwide theatrical release in 2027. <\/p>\n

Disney+ announces Pok\u00e9mon distribution deal<\/h3>\n

News of Pok\u00e9mon: Wild Card<\/em> comes just days after it was announced that Disney+ and The Pok\u00e9mon Company International have teamed up for a global distribution deal. <\/p>\n

First up will be Pok\u00e9mon\u00a0Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch\u2019d & Pichu<\/em>, created by Aardman, debuting on the streamer worldwide in 2027. <\/p>\n

In the stop-motion series, “Sirfetch\u2019d and Pichu embark on an epic journey through the Galar Region. Together, they set out on a gallant quest to help and protect\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon\u00a0across the region. Their missions rarely go as planned, but their noble deeds forge their friendship as they step bravely into the unknown where peril, alliances, rivalries, extraordinary\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon, and endless laughs await them.”<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon and Aardman first teased the upcoming project<\/a> in late 2024!<\/p>\n
