Lil Nas X has announced his mother’s passing<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old rap star has taken to social media to announce the passing of his mother, Tameka Hill.<\/p>\n
Nas – whose real name is Montero Hill – wrote on Instagram: “RIP TO THE BADDEST EVER! LOVE U FOREVER, MOMMY (sic)”<\/p>\n
Nas also shared a carousel of photos of his mother on Instagram.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
The rapper – who has previously been diagnosed with bipolar disorder – added: “This one\u2019s gonna hurt. (sic)”<\/p>\n
\nNas hasn’t revealed any further information about his mom’s passing, but he’s previously admitted to having a complicated relationship with her.<\/p>\n
\nThe music star explained to Variety in 2020: “I never really talk about my mom. <\/p>\n
\n“She\u2019s an addict, so we don\u2019t have the closest relationship. Even trying to get her better \u2014 things didn\u2019t quite work out. But there\u2019s still love.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Nas was arrested in Los Angeles in August 2025, after he was found wandering the streets of the city in the early hours of the morning.<\/p>\n
\nThe music star subsequently revealed that he spent “a few months” in rehab following the high-profile incident.<\/p>\n
\nThe chart-topping rapper – who was charged with causing injury to a police officer, and for resisting arrest – said on Instagram: “I’ve been in rehab for a few months, and since then I’ve been back at home, whether it’s in Atlanta with my family or in Los Angeles with myself and friends, trying to ground myself down to earth and get out of my head.”<\/p>\n
\nNas admitted that he was reluctant to discuss his bipolar disorder diagnosis in public.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “When I got my bipolar disorder diagnosis, I feel like I had known for like the past few years, but I didn’t want to admit to it, because I didn’t want to have to take medication, and have people think different of me.<\/p>\n
\n“I mean, I’m already black and gay. Damn god, give me like \u2014 come on, black, gay, bipolar? I’m living life on extreme hard mode.”<\/p>\n
\nNas insisted he’s now in a much better headspace compared to last year.<\/p>\n
\nThe rapper said: “On a serious note, I’m doing much better, I’m feeling better, I’m creating freely, and there’s less fear in my heart, and I’m just smelling the roses.”<\/p>\n
