The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City<\/em><\/a> alum Jen Shah<\/strong><\/a> officially completed her sentence following stints in prison and home confinement after pleading guilty to fraud charges.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday marks the official completion of my sentence and the closing of a chapter that changed my life and my family forever,\u201d Shah, 52, told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> on Friday, August 28. \u201cI made decisions that had serious consequences, and I accept those consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI\u2019ve had years to look honestly at my own choices \u2014 the people I trusted and allowed into my life, the red flags I ignored, the questions I should have asked, and the moments when I should have stopped and listened to my instincts. I can see those things today in a way I couldn\u2019t then, and I take responsibility for the decisions that were mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Page Six<\/em><\/a> initially reported that Shah\u2019s official home confinement release date was listed as Sunday, August 30, by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. However, since her release date falls on a weekend, BOP policy would allow her to be released on the last preceding weekday.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum Jen Shah is a free woman. After serving less than three years of her six-and-a-half-year sentence for her role in a long-running nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme, the Bravo star was released from the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, on December 10, 2025. \u201cJen Shah has demonstrated [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In July 2022, Shah pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud as part of a plea deal for allegedly defrauding elderly clients with a telemarketing scheme. While she was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison<\/a>, the Real Housewives<\/em> star was released from the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, to begin home confinement in December 2025 after serving less than three years of her sentence behind bars. (Shah served eight months of home confinement.)<\/p>\n

\u201cMoving forward doesn\u2019t mean forgetting that real people were hurt or treating the consequences of this chapter lightly. I carry that awareness with me, and I always will,\u201d Shah said in Friday\u2019s statement. \u201cBut I\u2019ve also learned that acknowledging your past doesn\u2019t mean you have to live in it. I can\u2019t change the chapters I\u2019ve already lived, but I can decide what I do with what they taught me. Today, more than anything, I feel grateful, hopeful and genuinely excited about the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shah spoke out in her first post-jail interview<\/a> in April, telling People<\/em> that she was \u201csorry\u201d for her past wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m accepting responsibility, and I\u2019ve made it my mission to make sure that people are paid back,\u201d she vowed. \u201cI understand that people have their opinions based on what they saw. But I would hope they would give me the grace to at least hear me and understand that I\u2019m more than just the headline.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Shah strenuously denied that she ever deliberately targeted elderly clients<\/a> in the telemarketing scheme that led to her imprisonment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to clear up this false narrative that I targeted the elderly,\u201d she told People<\/em>. \u201cI never, ever targeted the elderly.\u201d<\/p>\n

She attempted to clarify the criminal charge, explaining, \u201cIn the indictment, the government stated that if there are 10 customers over the age of 55, then it becomes elderly enhancement, which would add more time to my sentence. So that became the soundbite. \u2018Jen Shah targeted the elderly. She stole from the elderly.\u2019 And that\u2019s not true.\u201d<\/p>\n

In that same interview, Shah claimed that she never had any direct contact with her victims because of the structure of the telemarketing operation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe companies I worked for, it was a big deal to provide fulfillment. What happened was down the line, people that I worked with \u2014 my codefendant [Stuart Smith] \u2014 were working with a lot of other people,\u201d she noted. \u201cAnd so, once that initial fulfillment was happening, things were happening beyond the point of sale with that customer I didn\u2019t know about.\u201d<\/p>\n
