Samuel Monroe Jr.<\/strong><\/a> has sadly passed away.<\/p>\n

What Happened to Samuel Monroe Jr.?<\/h3>\n

The actor, best known for playing Ilena’s cousin in 1993’s Menace II Society<\/em>, faced a battle with meningitis, according to his family.<\/p>\n

His mom Joyce Patton<\/strong> confirmed the news to TMZ<\/a> on Thursday (August 27).<\/p>\n

She said that the actor passed around 10:24 p.m. PT on Wednesday (August 26) at a hospital, and shared an announcement on Facebook as well.<\/p>\n

What Did Samuel Monroe Jr.\u2019s Mother Say?<\/h3>\n

“I want to thank all of my facebook family and friends new and old for praying for Samuel Monroe, Jr.,<\/strong> my son. But today God called him home. Please honor my final request to pray for the family especially his 3 children,” she wrote.<\/a><\/p>\n

He was hospitalized back in April<\/a> with meningitis and MRSA pneumonia, among other medical issues. He was reportedly put on life support<\/a>.<\/p>\n
