It goes well with the hair, and adds to the severity and intensity of the overall aesthetic.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-theme=\"dark\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Born into the world\u2019s most visible family, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/NorthWest?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\">#NorthWest<\/a> has spent 13 years being watched. <\/p>\n<p>Now, with a riotous debut EP, she\u2019s ready to be seen on her own terms.<\/p>\n<p>Shot by Gus Van Sant, the legendary auteur behind My Own Private Idaho and Good Will Hunting, we caught up with the\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/nww4Fahftv\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/nww4Fahftv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Dazed (@Dazed) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Dazed\/status\/2091998243706097669?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\">August 24, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In a since-deleted tweet, Meghan McCain took to social media to take a break from saying unhinged things about the Girl Scouts, Abdul El-Sayed, Meghan Markle, to target North.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/08\/25\/meghan-mccain-criticizes-north-west-magazine-cover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TMZ<\/a> <\/em>reports that her words were: \u201cThis poor baby. My heart just breaks for this child.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(It appears that the former <em>The View<\/em> antagonist deleted her tweet after calling out the site\u2019s coverage, which she felt was unfair towards her.)<\/p>\n<p>McCain, who may have mentioned a time or two that she is the daughter of late Senator John McCain, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MeghanMcCain\/status\/2092397362463265135\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">clarified<\/a>: \u201cI was not mocking. I feel terrible for her and believe that kind of magazine cover is no place for a child. Don\u2019t twist it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though you do not ever \u201cgotta hand it\u201d to Meghan McCain, we can agree that children should seldom grace the covers of magazines. In particular, 13 is a very young age to be a public figure, and one likely to result in long-term harm.<\/p>\n<p>But we should consider that this status is largely inevitable for North. Her younger siblings are stalked and approached by photographers in strip mall parking lots. The negative public attention is unavoidable.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also clearly something that, at least for now, she wants. She likes to perform, she likes her look. And, in case anyone has forgotten what it was like to be in middle school, her outfits are just how many 13-year-olds would dress if they had money.<\/p>\n<p>We can also remember that Kim\u2019s younger sisters, Kendall and Kylie, grew up as famous tweens, too. Kendall was posing in a bikini on the beach for a photoshoot when she was, what, 14?<\/p>\n<p>North West wearing a lot of bulky mall goth jewelry is age-appropriate and safe.
