Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie<\/strong> acknowledged that Sterling Point<\/em> will be worth the wait after assumptions that season 2 won\u2019t return for a while.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt went from zero to to 100 really quick and I\u2019m so so grateful and so proud of these people,\u201d Whiteduck-Lavoie, 23, exclusively told Us<\/em> about the Prime Video show\u2019s success.<\/p>\n

The actor, who plays Ellis, revealed he was \u201cso happy to go back next year\u201d to film the second season<\/a>. When asked by Us<\/em> whether a 2027 production date likely meant a 2028 premiere, Whiteduck-Lavoie teased, \u201cI just want to time travel to next summer. \u2026 I know it\u2019s a long wait.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cBut part of the job is being patient and trusting the process. I just wish I could time travel and jump to next summer right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile the vision for Sterling Point includes more seasons, is every cast member coming back for a potential season 2? The show, which is streaming now, follows Annie Jacobson (Ella Rubin), whose life takes a turn when she inherits her mysterious grandfather\u2019s island in Canada. This leads to new friends, a love triangle and shocking [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sterling Point<\/em> was originally picked up by<\/a> Prime Video in January 2025. Filming began that summer and concluded in October 2025. The hit series, which follows teenagers in Muskoka, Canada, didn\u2019t air until August 2026.<\/p>\n

After the series was renewed for a second season, social media users speculated that there would be a delay in order to film during the summer months in Canada<\/a>. Whiteduck-Lavoie, for his part, was thrilled to see what creator Megan Park<\/strong> would conceptualize for season 2.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really hope we get to see more of Ellis. I feel like we haven\u2019t really because we know him in the show but he\u2019s still kind of mysterious in a way. He is just a man of few words \u2014 and I really hope we get to dive in deeper and explore more depth in him,\u201d Whiteduck-Lavoie noted. \u201cObviously as an actor, to be challenged is the fun part of the job. I feel like we could have explored more of Ellis within the love triangle.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI\u2019m really hoping that we get to see into Ellis\u2019 mind and who he is. Because I feel like we haven\u2019t really dug that deep into his personality.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whiteduck-Lavoie credited Sterling Point<\/em> with allowing him<\/a> to do more character work than he has gotten a chance in the past.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a lot of talking and sitting down with Megan. In Quebec, everything is just so much more fast-paced because we have tighter budgets. We have jam-packed days where we\u2019re shooting like 10 to 15 scenes a day so you don\u2019t really get the time to like break down scenes,\u201d he noted. \u201cI had the chance to do that with Megan and it was very helpful.\u201d<\/p>\n

The best part was getting to use his own childhood as inspiration, adding, \u201cWe\u2019re similar with our environment and I also grew up on lakes and I grew up fishing. We are like the last generation where part of our childhood didn\u2019t have phones. It was all about really connecting with nature so I took a lot from my childhood to bring to Ellis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Inspired by the \u201cBoomtown\u201d podcast series, Landman is focused on the West Texas oil industry with a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Whiteduck-Lavoie pointed out the differences as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously there\u2019s a bunch of stuff that was very different. I also grew up on the more shy side and I didn\u2019t have a big circle,\u201d he continued. \u201cI didn\u2019t have a ton of friends and I was constantly moving so I was constantly having to adapt to new environments and making new friends. So that definitely played a big part in building this character.\u201d<\/p>\n
