Dolly Parton<\/strong> is dead<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The legendary singer, best known for hits like \u201cJolene\u201d and \u201cI Will Always Love You,\u201d died on Tuesday, August 25, from an undisclosed illness. Parton had been recently battling health issues<\/a> after her husband, Carl Thomas Dean<\/strong><\/a>, passed away in 2025, which caused her to miss the opening of a rollercoaster at Dollywood earlier this month.<\/p>\n

To celebrate Parton\u2019s many achievements in film, Watch With Us<\/a> has put together a list of Parton\u2019s best movies. Two years after starring in the third Rocky\u00a0<\/em>film, Sylvester Stallone<\/strong><\/a> acted alongside Parton in\u00a0Rhinestone.\u00a0<\/em>Based on the hit song by Larry Weiss, \u201cRhinestone Cowboy,\u201d from 1975, the plot revolves around Parton\u2019s country singer character Jake Farris, who is desperate to get out of her contract with her manager. To do so, she bets him that she can turn the next guy she sees into a Nashville-style singer \u2014 but that person ends up being gruff New Yorker Nick (Stallone).<\/p>\n

Determined to win out, Jake pushes forward in her quest to turn Nick into a bona fide country boy. Rhinestone<\/em> had the bonus of churning out two hit songs for Parton via the film\u2019s soundtrack: \u201cTennessee Homesick Blues\u201d and \u201cGod Won\u2019t Get You.\u201d Critics weren\u2019t big fans of this one upon release, but Rhinestone<\/em> is a \u201cguilty pleasure\u201d film that\u2019s consistently entertaining to watch. Parton is always charming, and it\u2019s hilarious to watch Stallone try and fail to sing.<\/p>\n
