Demi Moore<\/a>, 63, has partnered with health testing company Function, which offers more than 160 laboratory tests, imaging and specialist assessments. <\/p>\nRumer told People her family\u2019s experiences with dementia and breast cancer prompted her interest in taking an APOE genetic test, which can provide information about a person\u2019s genetic risk of developing Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cIt\u2019s terrifying to get answers sometimes. Obviously there are genetic things in my family. Not just dementia, I\u2019ve had some family members who have had breast cancer and family members who have had different things.\u201d<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Rumer added: \u201cBut I think when you have information, it\u2019s power. And that sounds so, like, Spider-Man, but when we\u2019re able to see, OK, maybe I\u2019m more predisposed to this, you can just start actively working to reduce inflammation in your body, work on heart health, whatever it is. That\u2019s why it\u2019s been so amazing to be able to track a lot of those things with Function.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nRumer also said having access to test results also gave her information she could take into appointments with healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n
\nShe went on: \u201cIt also just feels like such an easy way to have information to share with your provider that says, \u2018Hey, I actually have this data, so you can\u2019t gaslight me about what\u2019s happening.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBruce\u2019s family announced in 2022 the Die Hard actor was stepping away from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia. <\/p>\n
\nThe family subsequently disclosed in 2023 that his condition had progressed and that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, or FTD.<\/p>\n
\nHis wife Emma Heming Willis, 48, recently addressed what she described as a common misconception surrounding the condition, explaining that Bruce\u2019s form of FTD affects language rather than memory.<\/p>\n
\nRumer has also spoken in recent months about the changes she has observed in her father.<\/p>\n
\nIn May, she said on The Inside Edit podcast Bruce was \u201cOK in the context of what his reality is\u201d and described a new \u201ctenderness\u201d in their relationship. <\/p>\n
\nShe also said she was grateful that her daughter Louetta, three, had been able to form a relationship with her grandfather.<\/p>\n
\nRumer added: \u201cI love getting to go over and see him. I\u2019m so grateful that I have a child that got to meet him because I don\u2019t know if my sisters will have that. You know, who knows?<\/p>\n
\n\u201cEven though our time together is different now, I\u2019m so grateful still that I have this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBruce made a rare public appearance this month when he attended the wedding of his daughter Tallulah Willis to musician Justin Acee. <\/p>\n
\nThe ceremony took place in Sun Valley, Idaho, with photographs showing Bruce embracing Tallulah. Demi was also present.<\/p>\n
\nBruce remains best known for playing John McClane in the Die Hard films, while his extensive career also included Pulp Fiction, The Sixth Sense, Armageddon, 12 Monkeys and the television series Moonlighting.<\/p>\n
\nRumer has pursued her own acting career, appearing alongside Demi in Striptease as a child before going on to roles in The House Bunny, Sorority Row and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. She also competed on and won the 20th season of Dancing with the Stars.<\/p>\n
\nHer latest focus on health comes after a significant period in her personal life. <\/p>\n
\nRumer was awarded primary physical custody of Louetta in June following a dispute with her former partner Derek Richard Thomas, 40, while the former couple retained joint legal custody.<\/p>\n
