John Cusack<\/strong><\/a> is standing by Mark Ruffalo<\/strong><\/a>‘s side. <\/p>\n

The 60-year-old Say Anything<\/em> actor took to his Twitter\/X account on Saturday (August 22) to show support for the Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em> actor after he hit back at claims from Paramount that he was antisemitic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

John<\/strong> reposted Mark<\/strong>‘s statement in response to Paramount and wrote<\/a>, “Solidarity – well said.” <\/p>\n

Paul Walter Hauser<\/strong><\/a> took to his Instagram account on Sunday (August 23), showing his support for Mark<\/strong> as well. <\/p>\n

“MARK RUFFALO If you think that Mark Ruffalo is antisemitic, you are an actual moron,” he wrote in a screenshot posted on his account<\/a>. <\/p>\n

In the caption, Paul<\/strong> shared a red heart emoji, followed by “Mark. Focus on an actual harmful person, not the guy who everyone in Hollywood knows is hyper-intelligent, empathetic and talented. Find a new target, dude.” <\/p>\n

Why are Mark Ruffalo and Paramount feuding?<\/h3>\n

Previously, Mark<\/strong> called out the Ellison<\/strong> family over the Paramount-Warner Bros merger, comparing Larry Ellison<\/strong>, Oracle\u2019s former CEO and a billionaire with a controlling stake in Paramount that is being managed by his son,\u00a0David Ellison<\/strong>, to a \u201cclassic Oligarch.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Paramount then responded to Mark<\/strong>‘s message saying the company is \u201ctroubled when antisemitic tropes are invoked in purported service of a business dispute. Words like \u2018genocide\u2019 and \u2018apartheid,\u2019 applied to a corporate transaction, aren\u2019t just wrong \u2014 they\u2019re a bridge too far, and they cheapen the very real suffering those words are meant to describe. This doesn\u2019t deserve a response in kind \u2014 and to be clear, we don\u2019t tolerate prejudice of any kind, against anyone,\u201d per Variety<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n
