Ed Oliver<\/strong><\/a> is mourning a tragic loss.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old Buffalo Bills defensive tackle’s son, also named Ed<\/strong>, passed away at the age of 2 due to an accidental drowning at their home.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn behalf of the entire Buffalo Bills organization, we want to publicly express our condolences to Ed Oliver <\/strong>and his family on the devastating loss of his son. It\u2019s an unthinkable tragedy for any parent. We will continue to support Ed<\/strong> and his family as we all grieve this loss,” the team’s general manager Brandon Beane<\/strong> said in a statement.<\/a><\/p>\n

The young boy was “found unresponsive in a swimming pool by family members at a residence outside Houston,” ESPN<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

A source close to the family asks for “privacy and prayers at this very difficult time.”<\/p>\n

The incident reportedly occurred on June 28, when Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded “to an in-progress life-in-danger call,” per ESPN. He was reportedly discovered unresponsive by his parents in the swimming pool at their home, and taken by ambulance to a Houston hospital where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

Ed<\/strong> also has a daughter, Ava<\/strong>, with his longtime partner\u00a0Dymond Gladney<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He has played with the Bills since 2019. According to\u00a0ESPN, the Bills organization has been \u201caware of the incident since it occurred.\u201d<\/p>\n
