There\u2019s no place like home for the holidays! The Family Stone<\/em> put a new spin on a popular Christmas movie trope and proved to be an underrated gem<\/a>.<\/p>\n The film, which was released in December 2005, stars Sarah Jessica Parker<\/strong><\/a> as an uptight businesswoman who celebrates Christmas with her boyfriend\u2019s eccentric family. Dermot Mulroney<\/strong><\/a> plays her beau, who plans to propose, while Diane Keaton<\/strong><\/a>, Craig T. Nelson<\/strong><\/a>, Rachel McAdams<\/strong><\/a>, Luke Wilson<\/strong><\/a>, Elizabeth Reaser<\/strong><\/a> and Tyrone Giordano<\/strong> portray the Stones.<\/p>\n Wilson revealed in December 2021 how the cast bonded prior to filming to seem like a realistic family.<\/p>\n \u201cWe definitely had rehearsals, which is kind of unusual in this day and age. And then we worked together on \u2014 some of us would go to sign language training together. Craig T., I remember doing it with those guys,\u201d\u00a0the Legally Blonde<\/em> star exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em>, referring to the skill the actors picked up to communicate with Giordano\u2019s character, who was deaf. \u201cWe did wind up spending more time together and had a couple of nice dinners. It\u2019s very helpful.\u201d<\/p>\n Wilson noted that he was in awe of his castmates. \u201cDiane \u2014 we all kind of admired her,\u201d he recalled. \u201cAnd in my mind, here\u2019s Sarah Jessica and she\u2019s sort of this icon of fashion and humor from Sex and the City<\/em><\/a> and then here\u2019s the original icon of fashion and humor \u2014 Diane. \u2026 And then Rachel McAdams was great. \u2026 I just remember those\u00a0[days]\u00a0being kind of exciting where you\u2019re going to dinner alone meeting all these people. Some of them that you know and most of them you don\u2019t, so you are a little bit uncomfortable walking in. And then I just remember the idea of leaving and saying like, \u2018These people are great! I can\u2019t wait to work with them.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
