Don Diamont<\/strong><\/a> is reflecting on his 16-year age-gap relationship with Gloria Loring<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 63-year-old daytime star stopped by the Soapy<\/em> podcast<\/a> with hosts Rebecca Budig<\/strong> and Greg Rikaart<\/strong> for the August 18 episode and shared what it was like being with the actress and singer during their shared time together on The Days of Our Lives<\/em>. <\/p>\n

Don<\/strong> played Carlo Forenza and Gloria <\/strong>played Liz Chandler. Later, Don<\/strong> would go on to star in other soap operas like The Young and the Restless<\/em> and The Bold and the Beautiful<\/em>, on which he currently stars as Bill Spencer Jr.<\/p>\n

Don shared what his relationship was like with Gloria’s sons<\/h3>\n

At the time, Don<\/strong> was only in his early 20s and Gloria<\/strong> was separated from now ex-husband Alan Thicke<\/strong><\/a>, with whom she shares two sons: Brennan<\/strong> and Robin Thicke<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI met Gloria Loring<\/strong> [on Days of Our Lives<\/em>], and Gloria<\/strong> and I got involved, and that was actually a really positive, wonderful thing to come out of it,\u201d Don<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

Despite being only about 22 or 23, Don<\/strong> said he felt comfortable taking on a supportive role in the boys’ lives back then, crediting his own “really good dad” for the confidence, adding that he became a positive figure in their lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I wasn\u2019t entirely \u2014 it wasn\u2019t really uncomfortable for me. And I was there for them. Robin<\/strong> and Brennan<\/strong>,\u201d he said, careful not to disparage Alan<\/strong> either, who had a skyrocketing career thanks to his starring role on Growing Pains<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Don<\/strong> mentioned that due to \u201cthe nature of his job, what was going on at that time,” he had a reduced presence at home.<\/p>\n

He recently reunited with Robin Thicke<\/h3>\n

The soap star also shared that he was pleasantly surprised to learn that Robin<\/strong> mentioned him during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show<\/em>, saying he cherished a time when Don<\/strong> would play basketball with him during a pivotal time in his childhood.<\/p>\n

On the podcast, Don<\/strong> shared that he and Robin<\/strong> actually had a sweet reunion not long ago when they happened to run into each other at Nobu in Malibu. Don<\/strong> was there with his wife, Cindy Ambuehl<\/strong>, and several of his children. He said Robin<\/strong> recognized him right away!<\/p>\n
