Matthew Daddario<\/strong><\/a> is heading to Firehouse 51!<\/p>\n

The Shadowhunters<\/em> star has joined the cast of Chicago Fire<\/strong><\/a><\/em> for the NBC drama’s upcoming 15th season.<\/p>\n

Matthew<\/strong> will play a new firefighter candidate, although additional information about his character is being kept under wraps.<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/a> confirmed his casting on Friday (August 21) after he appeared in a behind-the-scenes Instagram photo<\/a> shared by fellow show newcomer Da’Vinchi<\/strong>. The two actors posed alongside returning cast member Brandon Larracuente<\/strong>, who plays firefighter Sal Vasquez.<\/p>\n

Matthew<\/strong> is best known for playing Alec Lightwood on Freeform’s Shadowhunters<\/em>. His recent projects also include Hallmark’s Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chicago Fire<\/em> is welcoming several new faces<\/h3>\n

Matthew<\/strong> is not the only new actor joining Firehouse 51 this season. Da’Vinchi<\/strong> has been cast<\/a> as series regular Marcus Burke, another firefighter candidate who has been described “roguish” and “a little defiant.”<\/p>\n

The newcomers arrive as the series prepares to say goodbye to longtime cast member Joe Minoso<\/strong><\/a> and more recent addition Dermot Mulroney<\/strong><\/a>. Both actors are expected to appear early in season 15 before completing their respective storylines.<\/p>\n

There is also a change happening behind the scenes, with Victor Teran<\/strong> taking over as showrunner<\/a> following Andrea Newman<\/strong>‘s departure.<\/p>\n

Chicago Fire<\/em> season 15 premieres on Wednesday, October 7 on NBC, with episodes also available next-day on Peacock.<\/p>\n
