Sons of Anarchy<\/em> creator Kurt Sutter<\/strong> addressed the recently announced spinoff Legends<\/em> starring Charlie Hunnam<\/strong><\/a> and more original cast members.<\/p>\n \u201cI know the news about Charlie\u2019s show hit today, and I\u2019ve been getting some queries about it. I just want to say my piece: I\u2019m not involved with Legends at all, nor should I be,\u201d Sutter, 66, said in a Thursday, August 20, Instagram<\/a> video. \u201cIt has nothing to do with the characters I created or the mythology.\u201d<\/p>\n Sutter explained that Legends<\/em>, which will be a miniseries, is more about \u201cthe legacy\u201d of Sons of Anarchy rather than the show itself. The screenwriter revealed that Hunnam, who is developing the project, approached him with the idea before taking it to FX.<\/p>\n \u201cJust want folks to know that Charlie came to me early on, when he was in the process of pitching this to the network, to ask for my blessing, knowing that the IP [intellectual property] would probably not be able to be invoked for various reasons of legalese stuff, and I gave Charlie my full blessing,\u201d he continued. \u201cI wish nothing but the best for him in this project.\u201d<\/p>\n Sutter added that his wife, Katey Sagal<\/strong>, is going to appear in the series as well. (Sagal starred in Sons of Anarchy<\/em> as Gemma Teller Morrow, who was the mother of Hunnam\u2019s character, Jax.)<\/p>\n The director teased that he caught a glimpse at the script for Legends<\/em> while it was lying on his wife\u2019s \u201cknitting table\u201d \u2014 and he thinks fans are going to like it.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s so well-done, and I think you\u2019ll dig it. And that\u2019s my two cents,\u201d he said. \u201cI love Charlie to death, and I think you will have mad love for this project as well.\u201d<\/p>\n Not only are Hunnam and Sagal returning, but a majority of the cast will be back as well. Ron Perlman<\/strong>, Maggie Siff<\/strong>, Mark Boone Junior<\/strong>, Tommy Flanagan<\/strong>, Kim Coates<\/strong> and Theo Rossi<\/strong> will also return.<\/p>\n According to the series\u2019 premise, Legends will follow the Sons of Anarchy<\/em> cast as they reunite \u201cat a fan convention after more than a decade.\u201d<\/p>\n
