Gracie Abrams has praised Taylor Swift<\/p>\n
The Close to You singer supported the 36-year-old megastar on her Eras tour in 2023 and 2024 and despite rumours of a feud between the pair, she has heaped praise on the experience, describing seeing Taylor in action as a “masterclass”.<\/p>\n
She gushed on the Therapuss podcast: “You get to watch this titan of the industry, top down, make the experience for every single person who ever attended.<\/p>\n
“Every single person who works to make it happen, the best version of the experience that it could be.”<\/p>\n

Gracie described the tour as having “very summer camp vibes”.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: “I learned on a personal level that the show always goes on no matter what.<\/p>\n
\n“You would never know if she was sick. You would never know if her heart was aching. She’s just giving it everything and doing it with grace and warmth.<\/p>\n
\n“She’s just this fiercely brilliant, singular kind of alien. But she’s a person.”<\/p>\n
\nFans had speculated that Gracie’s song Death Wish – in which she sings about how a friend’s “light of a million suns burns through people” – was about a falling out with Taylor,<\/p>\n
\nbut songwriter Aaron Dessner, who has worked with both stars, recently insisted that isn’t the case.<\/p>\n
\nInsisting it is “definitely not” about Taylor, he told Billboard: “It was written at a time when [Abrams] was writing about a friend\u2019s ex, being in a bad relationship.<\/p>\n
\n“So it was kind of about that person, I think. I wouldn\u2019t even actually know who that person was.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Gracie – who is the daughter of writer and director J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot Production CEO Katie McGarth -recently insisted it is “appropriate” to call her a nepo baby so she doesn’t get upset when people link her success to her family connections because she’s aware of how helpful her “privilege” has been in getting her where she is today.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking on the New York Times’ Popcast podcast, she said: “The nepo stuff is obviously in the discourse appropriately.<\/p>\n
\n“I think about the privilege there, and it’s like, I had a safety net, and that allowed me the ability to experiment and to concentrate, and I had the gift of time to dedicate to doing this thing I loved.<\/p>\n
\n“I wasn’t growing up afraid financially, and that’s the biggest deal.<\/p>\n
\n“The specific household that I was born into, there is just this vocabulary that I’m so lucky to grow up with.<\/p>\n
\n “So like, when I see people pointing that out, it’s like, I get it, hard-core. The jokes and things, I understand the tone of the Internet.”<\/p>\n
