RAYE is looking for love<\/p>\n
The 28-year-old singer – who is reportedly dating Hollywood star Michael B Jordan – has confirmed that she’s prioritising her love life over her music career.<\/p>\n
During an appearance on the Today show, RAYE quipped: “I\u2019m on strike, basically. I\u2019m on strike from making an album until I fall in love basically.<\/p>\n
“Because, do you know what it is? I\u2019ve written so many songs … Picture this: I\u2019ve been a songwriter for a really long time and your perspective \u2026 my perspective has largely just been, \u2018This didn\u2019t work out or this sucks or I\u2019m alone. My ex that time, or my ex that time.\u2019 So I\u2019m just very bored of that perspective.”<\/p>\n

Asked if she’ll delay releasing another album until she finds “Mr Right”, RAYE replied: “Absolutely. I\u2019m hard-set. It could be 10 years, guys.”<\/p>\n
\nIn the long term, RAYE is looking forward to approaching her next project with an optimistic outlook.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I\u2019m just really excited to find another project, see what happens in life and just enjoy the twists and turns, do all that stuff.”<\/p>\n
\nIn 2025, RAYE opened up about her love life, explaining that she’d struggled to move past one particularly heart-breaking break-up.<\/p>\n
\nThe pop star – whose name is Rachel Keen – told British Vogue magazine: “I\u2019ve been single for so long. My last devastating break-up was four, five years ago.<\/p>\n
\n“I was like, \u2018I’m gonna marry him.\u2019 We was together for two years and it ended up not working out.”<\/p>\n
\nRAYE admitted that the break-up proved to be particularly scarring for her.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I have never experienced a more crippling emotion. It took me three, four years to get over him. Like, I can\u2019t allow myself to fall in love until it\u2019s safe.”<\/p>\n
\nAt the time, RAYE insisted she was in “no rush” to find love. However, she did share her dream scenario.<\/p>\n
\nThe singer said: “Is it too much to ask that I\u2019m sat at a bar one day and you walk up to me, and we look into each other\u2019s eyes and you order me a negroni, and we get talking and you love jazz music and you\u2019re intelligent and you\u2019re telling me a quote about something and I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh my God, I\u2019m moved\u2019?<\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019m holding onto that. I\u2019m in no rush. I believe what\u2019s meant to be will be.”<\/p>\n
