The skincare brand Neutrogena <\/strong>is speaking out about the death of Hayden Panettiere<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you don’t know, Hayden <\/strong>detailed what happened between her and the brand in her book, “This Is Me: A Reckoning.”<\/p>\n

What happened between Hayden Panettiere and Neutrogena<\/h3>\n

After giving birth to her daughter Kaya <\/strong>in 2014, Hayden <\/strong>spoke out about postpartum depression on Live!<\/em> in 2015, revealing her struggle to the world.<\/a><\/p>\n

She said in 2015: \u201cShe went through that, which is something that I can very much relate to, and something that I know a lot of women experience. When [you\u2019re told] about postpartum depression you think it\u2019s \u2018I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child.\u2019 I\u2019ve never, ever had those feelings. It\u2019s something, I think, that needs to be talked about, and women need to know that they\u2019re not alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of misunderstanding. There\u2019s a lot of people out there that think that it\u2019s not real, that it\u2019s not true. That it\u2019s something that\u2019s made up in their minds, that, \u2018Oh, it\u2019s hormones.\u2019 They brush it off. It\u2019s something that\u2019s completely uncontrollable. It\u2019s really painful and it\u2019s really scary and women need a lot of support.\u201d<\/p>\n

After she spoke out about her postpartum depression, she says Neutrogena<\/strong> cut ties with her.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cNeutrogena canceled my long-standing contract, and it was yet another blow in a year that had given almost nothing else.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cI had postpartum depression, and it sucked. I wanted more than anything to get back to that place of happiness, but I didn\u2019t even know where that place was anymore,\u201d she writes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Neutrogena has now released a statement on Hayden Panettiere’s death<\/h3>\n

The brand posted the following statement to Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We are deeply saddened by Hayden Panettiere’s passing. For more than a decade, Hayden was a valued member of our Neutrogena community. We are proud to have partnered with her and understand that we made her feel unsupported during a very difficult time. This is not what Neutrogena stands for or who we want to be.<\/p>\n

Hayden’s courage in sharing her challenges helped inspire important conversations and awareness. We are making a significant investment to a long-standing community health partner to help give more women access to the support they need, including care for postpartum depression. We will share more details with this community when plans are in place.<\/p>\n

Out of respect for Hayden’s family and loved ones, we did not want to speak out so soon following her passing. Everyone at Neutrogena extends their deepest condolences to Hayden’s family and all who loved her.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
