Charles Melton<\/strong><\/a> is very close to signing on to star in the live-action Naruto<\/strong><\/a><\/em> movie!<\/p>\n

On Thursday (August 20), sources told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em> that the 35-year-old Riverdale<\/em> actor is in final negotiations for a key role in the upcoming movie based on the manga series by Masashi Kishimoto<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Naruto<\/em> is the “coming-of-age story of a young and enthusiastic ninja named Naruto Uzumaki who wants to grow up to be the leader of his ninja village but also happens to have the spirit of a nine-tailed demon fox inside him. The story was serialized in Japan\u2019s popular Weekly Shonen Jump<\/em> from 1999 to 2014, and later spawned a couple of popular animated series that ran for years on Cartoon Network and Disney XD.”<\/p>\n

Charles<\/strong> is being eyed to play Kakashi Hatake, the elite ninja mentor figure to Naruto and his friends. Kakashi is one of the most popular characters in the long-running and massively popular manga.<\/p>\n

Destin Daniel Cretton<\/strong>, who most recently directed Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em>, is set to direct the new movie for Lionsgate.<\/p>\n

The search is still underway to find the young actor to play Naruto.<\/p>\n

The news comes after Charles<\/strong> recently landed an Emmy nomination for his role in season 2 of BEEF<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In a new interview, Charles<\/strong> shared how fatherhood has changed him and his life<\/a>.<\/p>\n
