Rosie O’Donnell<\/strong><\/a> is speaking out in response to Kathy Griffin<\/strong><\/a> publicly calling her out for not getting an invitation to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em><\/strong> alongside her. <\/p>\n

For those who don’t know, Rosie<\/strong> is the guest host for Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong><\/a>‘s late night show this week while he continues his summer vacation. Kathy<\/strong> is one of Rosie<\/strong>‘s longtime friends and felt that she should have been invited to appear as a guest during this stint of shows. <\/p>\n

Kathy<\/strong> made a YouTube video to air out her feelings<\/a> this week and Rosie <\/strong>left a comment in response. <\/p>\n

What did Kathy Griffin say about Rosie O’Donnell?<\/h3>\n

\u201cMy feelings are really hurt that I was not invited to go on Rosie<\/strong>\u2019s week of the Jimmy Kimmel<\/em> show. And I love Jimmy<\/strong> so much. He\u2019s one of my oldest friends. I love Rosie<\/strong>. She\u2019s one of my oldest friends. Like I said, we\u2019re good pals. We\u2019re like sisters, and everybody knows sisters fight. Sisters and brothers fight. Best friends fight. Relatives, co-workers fight. And we\u2019re not even fighting. I\u2019m just being honest,\u201d she explained in the video. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe told me about being asked by the Kimmel <\/em>show to do a whole week, which I thought was fantastic. I thought it was a great marketing idea. I thought it was a great idea to begin with. She and Jimmy <\/strong>had had many years of kind of a quasi-beef. I mean, it wasn\u2019t serious, serious, but they\u2019re good now, which makes me very, very happy. We talked about her doing Kimmel<\/em> a lot. And one of the first things I said was, \u2018Well, this doesn\u2019t need to be said, but I would love to be a guest,’\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cThink about it. You\u2019ve got these two women who share this very unique thing in common. And while what happened to me was much more extreme than what happened to Rosie<\/strong>, it\u2019s pretty unusual that you\u2019ve got these two women that have been so outspoken. He wasn\u2019t the president when she talked about him on The View<\/em>, but he was the president when I talked about him. And as I have spoken about before, most of Hollywood turned on me overnight. The phone stopped ringing. I got fired from every job that I had coming up. I ended up going on for seven years without work, which was really bad for my brain,\u201d she went on to say, referring to their respective feuds with President Donald Trump<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Kathy added, \u201cAs it was coming closer that she was going to do the show, I started getting more correspondence and just friends calling me that know me and know the two of us to be friends, saying, \u2018Which night are you doing? Are you going to be a surprise? Are you guys doing a sketch or just a sit-down interview? Are you guys going to do a song together? It\u2019s going to be great, the two of you together talking about this, of all things.\u2019 And I admit I was kind of getting excited, like, yeah, this could be a really cool moment. Then that moment passed and kept passing.”<\/p>\n

\u201cI was told specifically that ABC had nothing to do with keeping me off the show, and Kimmel <\/strong>and the staff had nothing to do with keeping me off the show. It\u2019s important to me to say that. I didn\u2019t think it sounded like something that would come from the Kimmel <\/em>show, but once again, that\u2019s their prerogative, and I was told by every person that I spoke to that it did not.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI will watch every night and cheer her on. Of course. If I have one call to action, it\u2019s that you guys watch the show and support her. Support comedy. Support women in comedy. Support bold people in comedy because we don\u2019t get rewarded very much. We usually get fired,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am just here to tell you my feelings were hurt. That\u2019s it. That\u2019s as deep as it gets. I\u2019m always honest with you guys, good, bad or indifferent, and this felt like one of the times I just had to kind of put it out there and see how you feel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rosie<\/strong> left a very simple response for Kathy<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

“Kathy- shoulda called me honey – I didn\u2019t choose the guests \u2026” she said in an Instagram comment<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Rosie<\/strong>‘s guests include Hannah Waddingham<\/strong><\/a>, Jean Smart<\/strong><\/a>, Charlie Day<\/strong><\/a>, Nick Offerman<\/strong><\/a>, Megan Mullally<\/strong><\/a>, and her new Broadway crush, Sydney James Harcourt<\/strong><\/a> from the musical Cats: The Jellicle Ball<\/em>.<\/p>\n
