The AI buildout shows no signs of slowing. And\u00a0with\u00a0hundreds of\u00a0billions of dollars a year going into data centers and GPUs,\u00a0compute has\u00a0become the single biggest cost for anyone building AI products. But for all that spending, there still\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0a straightforward way to put a price on\u00a0compute\u00a0\u2014 or\u00a0for firms to hedge their exposure when the price\u00a0changes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Silicon Data just closed a $30 million Series A to change that. The startup aims to become the reference price for GPU rental\u00a0and\u00a0an\u00a0index\u00a0that\u00a0a Wall Street futures contract would settle against.
