Tim Kring<\/strong>, the creator and showrunner of the hit NBC show Heroes<\/em><\/a>, is remembering cast member Hayden Panettiere<\/strong><\/a> after her death at 36.<\/p>\n

In an essay published by Variety<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday, August 18, Kring wrote that the actress was \u201ca seasoned professional\u201d when she auditioned for the role of teen cheerleader Claire Bennet, but \u201cunlike many actors who start working as kids, Hayden had no sense of jaded child actor quality to her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kring said, \u201cIt was a fait accompli that she would embody the role of Claire Bennet, aka the Cheerleader, from the moment we met her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Panettiere played Claire on all four seasons of Heroes<\/em> from 2006 to 2010 and was one of the show\u2019s breakout stars. (She did not appear in the short-lived 2015 reboot Heroes Reborn<\/em>.)<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHollywood is mourning the tragic loss of Hayden Panettiere at age 36. The Heroes and Nashville alum\u2019s representative confirmed to Us on Sunday, August 16, that the actress had died. Details surrounding Panettiere\u2019s death were not immediately available. \u201cIt is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,\u201d Panettiere\u2019s father, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Behind the scenes, however, \u201cHayden was a true team player, which was important for a show with a large ensemble cast,\u201d Kring wrote. \u201cShe was levelheaded beyond her years as a person and singularly talented as an actor, with an almost savant-like quality about her work.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember vividly that if a scene called for Hayden to cry, we would all marvel at how she could cry with intensity for 12 takes in a row,\u201d he reminisced. \u201cWhen the director yelled \u2018Cut,\u2019 she\u2019d go back to texting her friends or laughing with her castmates right up until the moment the director called \u2018Action\u2019 for the next take. Then out would come the waterworks again.\u201d<\/p>\n

As well as her work ethic, Kring said he will \u201cremember her as a kind and gentle person who was always a joy and an inspiration to work with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Panettiere died on Sunday<\/a>, August 16, in Greenville, South Carolina.<\/p>\n
