Reading Rainbow<\/em><\/a> host Mychal Threets<\/strong> \u2014 better known as Mychal the Librarian \u2014 sparked concern with a cryptic message about checking himself into the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not okay. Maybe I\u2019ll never be okay. I\u2019m seeking help. Going to the hopital [sic] tomorrow. In this moment I am safe. By God\u2019s grace,\u201d the TikTok-famous librarian shared via Threads<\/a> on Monday, August 17.<\/p>\n

Threets continued, \u201cNo matter what happens to me I will always be thankful for the extraordinary people in my life who worry, who help me. Thank you for your care. I will always love you. \ud83d\udc9a\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere have been two hosts in the history of Reading Rainbow<\/em>. The Legend of Literacy, LeVar Burton! And\u2026 me, Mychal Threets, a librarian,\u201d the librarian wrote via Instagram after he was announced as host in September last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was raised on Reading Rainbow<\/em>, LeVar Burton is my hero. I am a reader, I am a librarian because LeVar Burton and Reading Rainbow <\/em>so powerfully made us believe we belong in books, we belong everywhere,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
