Netflix<\/strong><\/a> has released the trailer for the upcoming coming-of-age comedy movie Best of the Best<\/strong><\/em>!<\/p>\n

Never Have I Ever<\/em>‘s Maitreyi Ramakrishnan<\/strong><\/a> and Disclosure Day<\/em>‘s Priyanka Kedia<\/strong><\/a> star as childhood best friends in the movie, which was co-written by Hasan Minhaj<\/strong><\/a>, who also stars.<\/p>\n

What is Best of the Best<\/em> about?<\/h3>\n
\n

Two childhood best friends, Maya (Ramakrishnan<\/strong>) and Anjali (Kedia<\/strong>), join UCLA’s competitive Bollywood-fusion dance team, only to discover that the road to winning the U.S. Championship is far more raucous and cutthroat than they ever imagined.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Who else stars in the movie?<\/h3>\n

Along with Maitreyi<\/strong>, Priyanka<\/strong>, and Hasan<\/strong>, Best of the Best<\/em> also stars Ankur Rathee<\/strong>, Janina Gavankar<\/strong>, Chaneil Kular<\/strong>, Becky Alex<\/strong>, and Shreya Navile<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Additional casting includes Nihar Duvvuri<\/strong>, Nico Greetham<\/strong><\/a>, Amryn Khurana<\/strong>, Tanishq Joshi<\/strong>, Lilly Singh<\/strong><\/a>, Saara Chaudry<\/strong><\/a>, Sasha Bhasin<\/strong><\/a>, and Kavi Ramachandran<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Lena Khan<\/strong> directs, with Hasan Minhaj <\/strong>and Prashanth Venkataramanujam<\/strong> writing the script.<\/p>\n

“[The movie] is a culmination of so many South Asian American kids\u2019 experiences growing up in the United States of America,\u201d Hasan <\/strong>shared in a statement with Tudum<\/a><\/em>. \u201cIt\u2019s very much a coming-of-age story of the Desi diaspora experience. For both me and Prashanth<\/strong>, this is a culmination of a bunch of painfully true events that we got to witness firsthand.\u201d<\/p>\n

The joyful coming-of-age comedy will be released globally on Netflix on September 18th.<\/p>\n
