Hayden Panettiere<\/a> – who passed away on Sunday (16.08.26) after suffering a cardiac arrest at the age of just 36 – but doesn’t “want to speculate” about the reasons why.<\/p>\nShe told Variety: “I\u2019ve got to tell you, man, I just can\u2019t stand how many young people are leaving us lately. It\u2019s disheartening, and it\u2019s making me think, \u2018What\u2019s going on?\u2019 It\u2019s not normal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t want to speculate about anything, but it\u2019s weird. Just in general, the amount and the volume of it since 2010 to now, it\u2019s a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 48-year-old actress co-hosted the World Music Awards with Hayden back in 2010 and paid tribute to how “joyous” she was.<\/p>\n
\nAsked what she remembered most about the Heroes star, she said: \u201cHer curious spirit and how happy and joyous she is, because that\u2019s her memory, right?”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Alex PenaVega recently declared her sadness over the deaths of fellow child stars Hayden, Michelle Trachtenberg and Daveigh Chase. <\/p>\n
\nHayden’s passing comes after Gossip Girl actress Michelle passed away in February, aged 39, and Lilo + Stitch star Daveigh died just two months ago, aged 35. <\/p>\n
\nThe Spy Kids star shared a heart-broken emoji on her Instagram, and added: “Hayden, Michelle, Daveigh… my heart is heavy today.<\/p>\n
\n“These aren\u2019t just names from my childhood. They\u2019re girls I grew up alongside, sharing a world that was exciting and also incredibly hard.<\/p>\n
\n“We were kids navigating something so big, and not everyone had the foundation or support they deserved.”<\/p>\n
\nAlexa advised her fans to “hug” their loved ones “close” following the devastating triple loss. <\/p>\n
\nShe added: “Today, I\u2019m grieving and holding their families close in my prayers and thinking of everyone still fighting battles we can\u2019t see. Hug your people close today”<\/p>\n
\nWizards of Waverly Place star David Henrie also admitted he had been left devastated by the deaths. <\/p>\n
\nHe commented: “Very well said. I\u2019m heartbroken and praying immensely.” <\/p>\n
\nFormer Victorious actress Daniella Monet wrote: “I feel this deeply.”<\/p>\n
\nSeveral stars have paid tribute to Hayden following her passing last weekend. <\/p>\n
\nNashville star Connie Britton wrote on Instagram: “This was Hayden. Bursting with brilliance, shining so bright. I have no words for this sad song. Just heartbreak. I love you girl. Sleep easy now.”<\/p>\n
\nFellow Nashville star Charles Esten posted on Instagram: “She was, of course, extraordinarily talented, infusing her larger-than-life character with all the heart, charisma, humor, whip-smart intelligence, and flat-out magic that were, alongside whatever troubles and pain she carried, a part of her own personal palette. <\/p>\n
\n“What a great gift it was to act with her, sing with her, and to just be her friend. (sic)”<\/p>\n
\nJimmy Jean-Louis, who appeared opposite Hayden in Heroes, wrote on Instagram: “SAVE THE CHEERLEADER, SAVE THE WORLD. It was an honor to protect Claire Bennett for 4 unforgettable seasons. Goodbye Hayden #haitianhero (sic)”<\/p>\n
