Sleepwalker<\/em>, Chatwin said Panettiere opened up to him about her personal life.<\/p>\n\u201cI could tell she was struggling, and I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t think it\u2019s this movie,\u2019\u201d he recalled. \u201cThere\u2019s a handful of women that I\u2019ve worked with that I really liked, and I really loved working with her, but I also know that she was really lonely.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite her struggles, Chatwin remembered Panettiere as a kind and genuine person.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe had a beautiful heart,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The actor said he appreciated that Panettiere felt comfortable being vulnerable with him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really liked spending time with her because she took that off, and she was authentic with me about her life and she opened up about her struggles with addiction,\u201d Chatwin explained.<\/p>\n
\nPanettiere\u2019s death has left Chatwin grappling with more than grief.<\/p>\n
\u201cI felt sad this morning, but I feel angry,\u201d he said. \u201cBecause I want to point a finger at something for this, and it keeps happening.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was delightful and super open and we had a great time together and I\u2019m just saddened that another one got taken down,\u201d Chatwin added.<\/p>\n
Panettiere\u2019s cause of death<\/a> has not yet been publicly confirmed, but a 911 dispatcher described the emergency as a \u201cpossible overdose.\u201d<\/p>\nThe actress, best known for Heroes<\/em> and Nashville<\/em>, returned to acting in recent years after stepping away from the spotlight.<\/p>\nNow, her final performance in Sleepwalker<\/em> serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the personal battles she was still fighting behind the scenes.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
