Amy Schumer<\/strong><\/a> has a new movie in the works!<\/p>\n

On Monday (August 17), Variety<\/a><\/em> announced that 45-year-old Emmy winner will be starring in and executive producing the upcoming comedy Best Divorce Ever<\/strong><\/em> from writer-director Sean Millin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The movie follows “Clarissa (Schumer<\/strong>) and Franklin, who after 20 years together decide they\u2019re done with marriage \u2013 but not with each other. Determined to pull off the world\u2019s most amicable divorce, they throw an \u2018Untying the Knot\u2019 party and eagerly embrace their newly single lives. But when disastrous dates, suspicious children and spectacularly misguided attempts at \u2018conscious uncoupling\u2019 throw their perfect plan into chaos, Clarissa and Franklin discover that getting divorced is the easy part. Figuring out how to stay a happy family is where things get complicated.”<\/p>\n

\u201cDivorce has a branding problem,\u201d said Mullin<\/strong>, whose script was inspired by his owned amicable divorce. \u201cI think we need to change the narrative that the only successful way to end a marriage is for one person to die.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amy<\/strong> is also going through a divorce herself. She announced in late 2025 that she and husband Chris Fischer<\/strong><\/a> have separated after seven years of marriage<\/a> and officially filed for divorce earlier this year. They share 6-year-old son Gene<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
