Zendaya<\/a>, 28, has now earned $785.8 million in North America and $1.236 billion internationally for a worldwide total of $2.022 billion. <\/p>\nThe film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, opened in the US on July 31 and has become only the eighth movie in history to cross $2 billion globally.<\/p>\n

The achievement makes Brand New Day the second-fastest film ever to reach $2 billion, behind only Marvel\u2019s Avengers: Endgame, which crossed the threshold after 11 days in 2019.<\/p>\n
\nThe latest Spider-Man has dominated cinemas since its release, opening with $355 million in North America and $932 million worldwide before passing $1 billion globally after only six days.<\/p>\n
\nIt has now overtaken its immediate predecessor, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which finished its theatrical run with $1.9 billion after being denied a release in China.<\/p>\n
\nBrand New Day follows Peter after the events of No Way Home, in which a spell cast by Doctor Strange resulted in the world forgetting Peter Parker existed. <\/p>\n
\nHe is living alone and fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man while watching his former friends continue their lives without remembering him.<\/p>\n
\nTom is joined again by Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned, while the film also features Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka The Punisher, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan aka Scorpion and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner aka Hulk.<\/p>\n
\nThe blockbuster marks another enormous success for Tom, whose Peter Parker first appeared in 2016\u2019s Captain America: Civil War. <\/p>\n
\nHe subsequently led Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home and No Way Home, while also appearing in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.<\/p>\n
\nTom is simultaneously enjoying another huge theatrical hit this summer through Christopher Nolan\u2019s The Odyssey. <\/p>\n
\nThe epic, in which he plays Telemachus, has also crossed $1 billion worldwide, giving the British actor two billion-dollar movies in cinemas during the same summer.<\/p>\n
\nBrand New Day has become the eighth-biggest worldwide release in box office history, joining a $2 billion club which includes Avatar, Avengers: Endgame, Avatar: The Way of Water, Titanic, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Infinity War.<\/p>\n
\nThe film remained No 1 in North America for a third consecutive weekend, taking another $70 million as its domestic total climbed to $785.8 million.<\/p>\n
\nIts performance has also made Brand New Day Sony Pictures\u2019 highest-grossing movie worldwide, while the wider North American box office is running almost 20% ahead of the equivalent point in 2025.<\/p>\n
\nThe film was written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, with Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Rachel O\u2019Connor producing.<\/p>\n
\nWith Brand New Day already at $2.022 billion, its continuing theatrical run leaves it chasing Star Wars: The Force Awakens\u2019 $936 million North American total, while Avatar remains the worldwide record-holder with approximately $2.9 billion.<\/p>\n
