Nearly 19 months after the deadly Palisades Fire<\/span><\/a> forever changed the Los Angeles community, residents<\/span><\/a> reunited to celebrate a milestone in the town\u2019s ongoing rebuilding efforts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Palisades has been home to me for most of my life, but really all my life. I was brought home to [the Palisades] in 1979, and then I was pregnant with Ryder \u2014 my son \u2014 and I was able to buy back the house I grew up in and decided to raise my kids in the Palisades,\u201d Kate Hudson<\/span><\/a><\/strong> shared at the grand reopening of Caruso\u2019s Palisades Village on Saturday, August 15, attended by Us<\/i>. \u201cThis community means everything to me, and this night is deeply personal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before introducing her longtime friend and One Republic member Ryan Tedder<\/strong> to the stage for a special performance, Hudson, 47, shared a powerful message to her neighbors.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been through so much. To lose so many places and landmarks that held our memories is devastating, and I think all of us still carry that tonight,\u201d she said. \u201cBut we must celebrate. We must celebrate that we are rebuilding.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWildfires continue to tear through the Los Angeles area, devastating thousands of acres and forcing even more people to flee their homes. As relief efforts are just getting underway, some of Hollywood\u2019s most prominent stars are coming together to help those in need. The Eaton and Pacific Palisades fires, which are burning concurrently, are already [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In January 2025, the Palisades Fire burned more than 23,000 acres across L.A. and its surrounding suburbs. According to CalFire, more than 6,500 structures were destroyed, 975 were damaged and at least 27 people lost their lives.<\/p>\n

Billy Crystal<\/a><\/span><\/strong> was one of the many residents who lost a home. Although he couldn\u2019t be in the Pacific Palisades over the weekend, the Oscar winner \u2014 a resident of the community since 1979 \u2014 joined his wife, Janice Crystal<\/strong>, in a special, pre-taped message.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverywhere you look, something great is happening,\u201d he shared. \u201cYou can feel it. We\u2019re on our way back folks, and for those of us who sadly lost everything in the fires, like I said in City Slicker<\/i>s, there\u2019s one thing we\u2019ll never lose.\u201d<\/p>\n

Janice replied, \u201cOur love for the Palisades.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Palisades Village, which did not burn down in the fires, was home to some of the city\u2019s best shopping, dining and entertainment offerings.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, new and returning businesses \u2014 including Jennifer Meyer, Paige, Alphabet Bar & Grill and more \u2014 opened their doors for eager shoppers and diners willing and able to lift up the community by opening their pocket books.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been waiting 19 months to say, \u2018Welcome to Palisades Village!\u2019\u201d developer and Pacific Palisades fire victim Rick Caruso<\/strong> wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> after the grand reopening. \u201cTwo days<\/span><\/a> after the Palisades fires, the Caruso team got together, wiped our tears and started rebuilding the Palisades Village. 19 months later, carried by the love, resilience and strength of this community, we are proud to take this mega-step in the rebuilding of the Palisades.\u2764\ufe0f\u201d<\/p>\n
