After a shocking TV death on Will Trent<\/em> and multiple show cancellations, Scott Foley<\/strong><\/a> has booked his new job \u2014 and it has him reprising a familiar role.<\/p>\n

Foley, 54, appeared in the season 2 teaser<\/a> for Hulu\u2019s Scrubs<\/em> revival, which aired at D23 on Saturday, August 15. He previously appeared in the original Scrubs series in seasons 1, 3 and 8 as Sean Kelly, who was a dolphin trainer who dated Dr. Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke<\/strong>) and later Dr. Kim Briggs (Elizabeth Banks<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

The actor\u2019s return to Scrubs<\/em> comes after<\/a> he previously couldn\u2019t appear in season 1.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had the good fortune of working with Yana Grebenyuk Bill Lawrence not just on Scrubs, but then I did Cougar Town and I did Undatable,\u201d he said in an interview with Josh Wilding<\/strong> in January. \u201cHe and I, we made Whiskey Cavalier in the Czech Republic together. So we\u2019ve had a long history of working together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Foley confirmed he was invited to return.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cZach [Braff] has asked me to come back,\u201d Foley revealed. \u201cI actually got a call right when they were starting production. They had me scheduled for an episode, and we couldn\u2019t work the schedule out. So I\u2019m sure we\u2019ll find the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Foley is known for his appearance on various TV shows, including his work on The Unit, Scrubs, Felicity<\/em> and Scandal<\/em>. He has also guest starred on Grey\u2019s Anatomy, Dawson\u2019s Creek<\/em> and House<\/em>, though his onscreen arcs have usually been cut short or ended tragically.<\/p>\n

After Foley joined Will Trent<\/em> in 2025<\/a>, there were concerns that his character, Seth, wouldn\u2019t make it for the long haul. A May episode showed Angie (Erika Christensen<\/strong>) finally giving birth, but her happiness was short-lived as Seth, her husband, died after collapsing in the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat a wonderful gift to receive after a wonderful experience on #willtrent,\u201d Foley wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of his name in the show\u2019s title card. \u201cThanks to the cast and crew, the writers and creators who made the experience so special.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cThis will surely make my wife and daughter say \u2018Awww\u2019 each time they pass by and really, that\u2019s enough for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Months later, Foley broke his silence about his latest show\u2019s<\/a> cancellation. He took to Instagram in July to address Prime Video not renewing his faith-focused series, It\u2019s Not Like That<\/em>, for a second season.<\/p>\n
