Dolly Parton<\/strong><\/a> was forced to pull the plug on attending a Dollywood event in person due to ongoing health woes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The singer, 80, had planned to appear at the opening of the theme park\u2019s new roller coaster, NightFlight Expedition, on Friday, August 13, but was forced to skip the occasion at the last minute on doctor\u2019s orders.<\/p>\n

Instead, Parton made a virtual appearance at the opening ceremony, according to multiple media outlets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m still in Nashville, and I\u2019m sorry about that,\u201d Parton said in the video.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDolly Parton has been recovering from some health issues. In September 2025, Parton surprised fans when she missed a scheduled visit to her Dollywood theme park to celebrate the new Night Flight Expedition Ride. Instead, the country singer appeared in a prerecorded video message played for the crowd. \u201cHello Dollywood! It\u2019s me,\u201d Parton said in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019m supposed to be there in person, like we planned,\u201d she said. \u201cNow I\u2019ve told you before, all my fans, that I have had a few little health issues. And sometimes I get a little dizzy, and I get dehydrated.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cJolene\u201d singer, who was wearing fairy wings, continued, \u201cAnd I\u2019m dehydrated. And so my Nashville doctor clipped my wings, saying you ain\u2019t traveling this week.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded, \u201cSo I guess if your doctor tells you you ain\u2019t traveling this week, you ain\u2019t traveling this week.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parton promised to keep her fans updated after missing the Dollywood event, which was located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee \u2014 a three-hour drive from Nashville.<\/p>\n

The Grammy winner announced in May<\/a> that she was postponing her Las Vegas residency over health concerns.<\/p>\n
