Farrah Fawcett<\/a> and Ryan O\u2019Neal was arrested for attempted murder and assault in May 2018, after leaving five people severely injured, including one who sustained \u201csignificant and serious stab wounds and cuts to his face, neck and upper body\u201d, in a string of attacks, a press release said.<\/p>\nHe was initially ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial, but the decision was reversed last year, and appearing at the LAX Airport courthouse on Thursday (13.08.26), Redmond pleaded not guilty to the charges of second-degree robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a smoking device, possession of an injection\/ingestion device and two counts of possessing a controlled substance.<\/p>\n
Redmond\u2019s lawyer confirmed he wouldn\u2019t make a bail motion during the hearing, so he was ordered to remain incarcerated at Patton State Hospital – under no bail without prejudice.<\/p>\n

Redmond spoke only once during the hearing, to confirm he understood that the arraignment was being extended until October 29. <\/p>\n
\nFollowing the arraignment on Thursday, Remond\u2019s godmother Mela Murphy opened up about her hopes for his future, telling Us Weekly that she\u2019s more optimistic \u201cthan ever\u201d, and added: \u201cHe\u2019s working the program and they are working with him. They are doing good work with him [at the hospital where is incarcerated].\u201d<\/p>\n
\nRedmond arrived late to the courtroom after his transport was delayed, and blew his godmother a kiss as he made his way to his seat. <\/p>\n
\nMela told Us Weekly that the tender move is further proof that he\u2019s improving while under psychiatric care. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cYou saw him just now throwing me a kiss. He is always calling to make sure I am alright.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDuring a hearing back in March, Redmond\u2019s attorney said that he\u2019d \u201cfound God\u201d, and added: \u201cThe medication is working beautifully and he\u2019s going to his life skills classes every day. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhen I ask him, \u2018Are you opening up and helping others there at Patton?\u2019 he always says, \u2018Absolutely.\u2019 He still has hope that he will get out.\u201d<\/p>\n
