If you\u2019re a student, time is running out to enjoy all the freedom the summer season usually brings.<\/p>\n
A great way to pass the time is by watching some great movies, and streamers like Netflix, Hulu<\/a> and more just dropped some must-watch films this weekend.<\/p>\n At the top of Watch With Us<\/a>\u2019 list is Normal<\/em>, a John Wick<\/em>-style action flick starring Bob Odenkirk<\/strong> as a new sheriff who has to fight for his life.<\/p>\n Also worth watching is the Netflix<\/a> dramedy Don\u2019t Say Good Luck<\/em>, Peacock<\/a>\u2019s sweet coming-of-age romance Girls Like Girls<\/em> and Disney+<\/a>\u2019s rockin\u2019 sequel, Camp Rock 3<\/em>.<\/p>\n Last but not least, Hulu is streaming the director\u2019s cut of The X-Files: I Want to Believe<\/em>, which reunites Gillian Anderson<\/strong> and David Duchovny<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s legendary FBI duo to investigate a mysterious serial killer.\n<\/p>\n High school student Sophie Birenbaum (Sunny Sandler<\/strong><\/a>) is over the moon \u2014 she just snagged the lead in her school\u2019s production of Waitress<\/em>! Sophie always wanted to be an actress, and she gets along well with her cute male costar, Jack (Jack Champion<\/strong>). But her priorities suddenly change when she learns her mother, Elizabeth (Melanie Lynskey<\/strong><\/a>), has terminal cancer. Sophie now has to take care of her mom, perform in a play that takes up most of her concentration and still find time to be a regular teenager.<\/p>\n Don\u2019t Say Good Luck<\/em> isn\u2019t afraid to pull your heartstrings, but it does in a way that doesn\u2019t make you roll your eyes. It tells a delicate, touching story about a daughter having to prepare to say goodbye to her mother and a parent whose impending death doesn\u2019t want to spoil her kid\u2019s youth. Sandler has appeared in some of her father Adam\u2019s films like Spaceman<\/em> and Happy Gilmore 2<\/em><\/a>, but she comes into her own here as a teenager who is forced to grow up very fast. Her scenes with Lynskey are the film\u2019s best and will probably cause you to shed a tear or two.<\/p>\n Ulysses (Bob Odenkirk<\/strong>) is the new sheriff of Normal, Minnesota, and he doesn\u2019t much like it. For starters, the previous sheriff fled under mysterious circumstances, and he\u2019s not sure he can trust his new fellow cops. Those suspicions turn out to be accurate when he\u2019s nearly killed by friendly fire during a bank robbery gone horribly wrong. It seems Normal\u2019s cops are hiding a deadly secret, and they\u2019ll kill Ulysses to keep it.<\/p>\n Normal<\/em> hails from the creator of John Wick<\/em> and Nobody<\/em>, and it has those franchises\u2019 same mix of outrageous action and black humor. But Normal<\/em> looks and feels entirely its own, with a twisty script that will keep you guessing as to who Ulysses\u2019 true friends or secret foes are until the end. The snowy locale gives director Ben Wheatley<\/strong> ample opportunity to stage some pretty striking action sequences, and Odenkirk once again proves the unlikely heir to Liam Neeson<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s grumpy-old-man action throne.<\/p>\n Mega-successful pop band Connect 3\u2019s (the Jonas Brothers<\/strong><\/a>) opening act just dropped out of their ongoing world tour, and they need to find a replacement fast. To find one on such short notice, they travel back to a summer camp filled with talented teen musicians who are looking for their next big break \u2014 Camp Rock. Connect 3 was there years ago, and they quickly realize some things never change. Rivalries still burn brightly, and students like resident bad boy Fletch (Malachi Barton<\/strong>) still fall in love with other campers, like Sage (Liamani Segura<\/strong>). But the big question remains \u2013 who will Connect 3 pick to be their next opening act?<\/p>\n Camp Rock 3<\/em> is a lot like Camp Rock 1 <\/em>and 2<\/em>, so expect a lot of hormone-driven melodrama, questionable fashion choices and sudden outbreaks of song-and-dance musical numbers. The movie knows its audience and tells a light and fun story that pretty much matches the first two films\u2019 plot beats for beat. There\u2019s something for older millennials, too, with the Jonas Brothers still showing their Gen Alpha competitors what a real boy band looks and sounds like, and Demi Lovato<\/strong><\/a> returning for a brief cameo as the original film\u2019s heroine, Mitchie Torres.<\/p>\n\u2018Don\u2019t Say Good Luck\u2019 (2026) \u2014 Netflix<\/h2>\n
