Hugh Laurie<\/strong><\/a> is voicing his support for Sophie Cunningham<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last month, the 29-year-old WNBA player doubled down on her views against trans athletes<\/a>, saying, that she wants to “protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn\u2019t have to go against biological men.”<\/p>\n

Then on August 9, Hugh<\/strong>, 67, responded to a post on X<\/a> shared by writer and trans activist Graham Linehan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“Firstly, f–k off; secondly no, I don\u2019t believe men should compete against women. I thought I\u2019d made that pretty clear. If you\u2019d looked. But obviously you must get onto your next\u2026” the House<\/em> actor wrote<\/a>. Graham<\/strong>‘s original post has been deleted so the context is unknown.<\/p>\n

Graham<\/strong> responded to Hugh<\/strong>, writing in a since-deleted tweet, \u201cWhy \u2018f–k off\u2019 then? Just say that you support Sophie Cunningham<\/strong> in her fight for fair sports and stop trying to be arch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hugh<\/strong> once again responded<\/a>, \u201cYou started it. \u2018Cowardly\u2019 to \u2018f–k off\u2019 is the going rate of exchange around here. And yes, I support Sophie Cunningham<\/strong>. And you, some of the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

After making it clear that he does not support trans athletes, many took to X to slam Hugh<\/strong> for his views.<\/p>\n

You can\u2019t spell Hugh<\/strong> without ugh. How pathetic.\u201d one user wrote.<\/p>\n

However, the Emmy-nominated actor did get some praise for his tweets, with one person writing, “Thank you Hugh Laurie<\/strong> for being one of the few sane people in this controversy. It is shocking and insane that anyone thinks men belong in women\u2019s sports. I liked you before, but respect you even more for your stance and comments. THANK YOU SIR!”<\/p>\n

If you didn’t Sophie Cunningham<\/strong> also responded to her “MAGA Barbie” nickname<\/a>.<\/p>\n
