Travis Barker<\/a> lived in fear following his near-fatal plane crash.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Travis Barker survived the 2008 crash<\/p>\n
The 50-year-old musician felt like he was living in Final Destination, the horror film franchise, after he narrowly avoided losing his life in a 2008 plane crash.<\/p>\n
Speaking to People, Travis shared: “I would go from my tour bus to the hotel, and no one would see me.<\/p>\n
“I would just hide out. I was so afraid. I was just waiting for impact in the bus. I was just like, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m next. I\u2019m going to go anytime.\u2019”<\/p>\n

Travis and his friend Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein were the only passengers to survive the crash. But Goldstein lost his life the following year, aged 36, and Travis was subsequently left battling survivor’s guilt.<\/p>\n
\nThe drummer – who is married to reality star Kourtney Kardashian – said: “You\u2019re never ready for that. You\u2019re never ready for one of your best friends to pass away, especially someone who just survived a plane crash with me.”<\/p>\n
\nThe Blink-182 star is the subject of a new documentary called Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear.<\/p>\n
\nThe project – which explores the lasting trauma he experienced after the 2008 crash – is directed by Justin Krook and Michael Dwyer, and they previously explained that Travis has learned to live with trauma, rather than overcoming it.<\/p>\n
\nMichael told People: “The key distinction that we found over making this film is that it was not necessarily about overcoming [trauma] because I don’t think you actually overcome [it]. You actually live with [it].”<\/p>\n
\nPrior to that, Travis admitted that he wasn’t able to escape from the trauma of the plane crash, because it was all so public.<\/p>\n
\nThe musician acknowledged that he found it “difficult” to deal with the accident and the fallout from it.<\/p>\n
\nTravis told the Guardian newspaper: “From the time it happened, people were asking me to talk about it, and I couldn\u2019t. As time went on and I was no longer dealing with post-traumatic and survivor\u2019s guilt and my own injuries \u2026 Well, there were two hard things to deal with. <\/p>\n
\n“First, obviously, being 65 percent burned. And two, burying two of my best friends and the two pilots I\u2019d just met. It was difficult.”<\/p>\n
