Season 4 of Prime Video\u2019s hit series Reacher<\/em> introduces Sydelle Noel<\/strong> as Tamara Green \u2014 but the actress nearly played a very different pivotal role.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did not watch Reacher before [season 4] but I knew the Tom Cruise of it all with the [Jack Reacher] movies. But I was up for a role in Reacher previously and I didn\u2019t get it,\u201d Noel, 41, exclusively told Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Noel revealed she was previously \u201cup for Neagley,\u201d which ultimately went to Maria Sten<\/strong>. Neagley is not only a skilled former U.S. Army master sergeant and private investigator, but also Reacher\u2019s right-hand girl who can be counted on in the most dire of situations.<\/p>\n

Reacher<\/em>, which airs Wednesdays, is based on the Jack Reacher<\/em> novel series<\/a> by Lee Child<\/strong>. It stars Alan Ritchson<\/strong> as the main character, who is a self-proclaimed drifter and former U.S. Army military police officer with incredible strength, intellect and abilities. During his travels, Reacher crosses paths with dangerous criminals and battles them.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be honest, it was probably between the both of us too,\u201d Noel noted about the tough choice casting directors had to make. \u201cI never watched it but I heard good things about it. And when season 4 came around, I received a call from Yana Grebenyuk Nick Santora<\/strong> asking me to read for this role. And I was like, \u2018Do I really want to go through this again?’\u201d<\/p>\n

After reading the script, Noel changed her mind<\/a>, adding, \u201cI found out it was kind of made for me so it was cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Season 4 pulls inspiration from the 2009 novel Gone Tomorrow<\/em>, which follows Reacher as he witnesses a suicide on the subway in New York. According to the official synopsis, Reacher \u201d soon discovers the woman who killed herself was Pentagon staffer Susan Mark, who was caught up in a larger deadly conspiracy involving a corrupt politician, Al Qaeda terrorists and countless murders.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I read for my role, I was like, \u2018This is me,’\u201d Noel told Us<\/em> about playing Tamara Green, who is a detective with the Philadelphia Police Department. \u201cAnd Nick goes, \u2018Yeah, why do you think you were running so much? You forgot you told me you ran track?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018I actually prefer this role.\u2019 I\u2019m happy that I got Tamara.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to Noel and Ritchson, 43, season 4 stars Christopher Marquette, Agnez Mo, Anggun<\/strong> and Kevin Corrigan<\/strong>. Noel was thrilled by the chance to push herself on screen<\/a> as her character joined Reacher out in the field.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tIf there\u2019s one thing to look forward to in 2026, it may just be the amount of spinoffs and prequels coming to the small screen. Although 2025 saw the premieres of critically acclaimed series, including Adolescence, MobLand and The Pitt, the next 12 months may be dominated by spinoffs. For starters, reality TV viewers are [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI have this motto, \u2018Stay ready so you don\u2019t have to get ready.\u2019 I live and die by that. I pretty much just adjusted a little bit because once I got all the scripts, I was like, \u2018Oh, this is going to be intense,’\u201d she continued about the physical activity that went into her character. \u201cI\u2019m one of those people I work out every day. And what I did is I just pretty much adjusted my workout.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noel continued: \u201cI pretty much had almost two months \u2014 or maybe a month and a half \u2014 to condition myself before I got to Toronto. So what I did is I just started lifting a little bit heavier and I adjusted my meal plan. I went back to CrossFit because I was lifting heavier and then I incorporated running into my workouts but that\u2019s it. I just slightly changed it a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n
