Neil Perry <\/b>is opening up about his exit from The Band Perry<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cJune 2024 took something from me. Something I had spent my entire life building. A band. A business. A family. A name,\u201d the musician wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> on Tuesday, August 11. \u201cMy sister wanted her husband to become a member of the band, taking my brother\u2019s place. I made it equally clear that I was not okay with that.\u201d<\/p>\n Neil, 36, cofounded The Band Perry in 2005 with his siblings, Kimberly Perry <\/b>and Reid Perry<\/b>. Kimberly, 43, married Johnny Costello <\/b>in 2021<\/a>, one year before the group went on hiatus. (Costello joined the band upon their eventual reunion.)<\/p>\n \u201cBy then, the situation had become about far more than the lineup. I had witnessed instability and broken trust that fundamentally changed my ability to move forward,\u201d Neil alleged via Instagram. \u201cWeeks later, I was terminated. The day after my birthday. I never expected that my decision not to participate under those circumstances would also mean losing my financial interest and access to the band\u2019s platforms, resources and audience I had spent my life helping build.\u201d<\/p>\n Kimberly, Costello and Reid, 37, have not publicly addressed Neil\u2019s claims. Us <\/i>has reached out for comment.<\/p>\n Neil explained on Tuesday that he turned to music to process his new normal.<\/p>\n \u201cI watched a story emerge that didn\u2019t resemble the one I lived. The anger became music. Neil introduced his new musical project, Wolves of June, via social media last month.<\/p>\n \u201cRound 1,\u201d he wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> in late July, introducing his debut single, \u201cTNT.\u201d<\/p>\n Kimberly, for her part, has previously been candid about the sibling band\u2019s desire for a break before its new era with Costello.<\/p>\n
