There\u2019s no white privilege involved in that specific call,\u201d Acho said on his <em>Speakeasy<\/em> YouTube show on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The remark led Carrington to allege that Acho had misinterpreted her comments.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_6-0\">\u201cI\u2019ve never once claimed that the assessment of the foul was white privilege,\u201d Carrington\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DijonaiVictoria\/status\/2086912218457862229?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote on X<\/a>, reposting a clip of former NFL star\u00a0Emmanuel Acho\u00a0discussing her response. <\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_6-0\">\u201cTry exercising your critical thinking skills, I know you studied psych. Furthermore, I\u2019m the LAST thing from ignorant or asinine when it comes to speaking on \u2018white privilege\u2019, do ya research on that one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_8-0\">Carrington, who graduated from Stanford, added, \u201cI actually went to school, one of the top universities, might I add, to educate myself on this exact subject. I would never use that term as a rhetorical weapon knowing the historical and social weight it holds without having the proper evidence to substantiate it.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"\/>\n<p>The rebuttal lead to a sarcastic response from Acho.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou are correct, DiJonai Carrington, my assumption, along with the majority of the sports world, was that you posting \u2018white privilege\u2019 immediately following being thrown out of a game for fouling somebody white was regarding the foul.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut if the two things are somehow not connected, that\u2019s on me. I\u2019ll stand corrected,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/emmanuelacho\/status\/2086926078556455361\" target=\"_blank\">Acho wrote on X<\/a>, adding:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, America is a speaker oriented country, so the burden is on you for being clear, direct and easy to understand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For her part, Cunningham downplayed any racial bias, saying \u201cthere\u2019s no reason to even play that card.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She went on to dismiss Carrington\u2019s hard foul as \u201cher just trying to get attention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The grudge might resurface the next time Cunningham and Carrington face off on the court.<\/p>\n<p>For now, it\u2019s another WNBA scandal in a season that\u2019s been loaded with them.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/08\/dijonai-carrington-addresses-white-privilege-remarks-following-sophie-cunningham-foul\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reading Time: 2 minutes The WNBA has been making more headlines than ever in recent months.
