Pictures)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In a profile published by <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esquire.com\/entertainment\/movies\/a73336135\/brad-pitt-interview-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Esquire<\/a><\/em> today, interviewer Ryan D\u2019Agostino notes that Pitt offered him wine and then asks the actor-pp if he keeps a bottle on hand for the benefit of his guests.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, I got \u2014 I was sober for seven years. And then I got back off the wagon,\u201d Brad clarifies with a \u201clittle laugh,\u201d adding:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a more restrained manner. I got overconfident a couple times, went, Yep, nope, not good for me. Not in big quantities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can have a glass of wine,\u201d D\u2019Agostino ventures, leading Pitt to remark:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah. Well\u2009.\u2009.\u2009.\u2009I can have a few. But I can\u2019t have a lot. I have to be professional about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Db3DffvEUzb\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>The revelation comes as a surprise, as Pitt publicly thanked Bradley Cooper for helping him get sober while speaking at a 2020 award ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>And he opened up about the joys of a booze-free existence as recently as June of 2025, when he discussed his sobriety journey on Dax Shepard\u2019s \u201cArmchair Expert\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n<p>News of his relapse (or whatever you wish to call it) comes on the heels of reports that all of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/07\/zahara-jolie-newspaper-ad-drops-brad-pitt-surname\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brad\u2019s kids have legally dropped \u201cPitt\u201d from their names<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Brad and Angelina\u2019s divorce has been one of the messiest in Hollywood history, with insiders claiming that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/07\/brad-pitt-resents-childrens-name-changes-blames-angelina-jolie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pitt blames Jolie for \u201calienating\u201d his children<\/a> from him. <\/p>\n<p>At one point in the <em>Esquire<\/em> interview, Pitt referred to a period in which he felt such intense pain that he could imagine viewing death as a relief.<\/p>\n<p>Whet D\u2019Agostino asked if he was referring to the situation with his children, Pitt demurred, saying:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFamily stuff.
